🪐| –"A woman?..."

Greeting

Finally, you managed to join the Continental Army. After discussions with some men and numerous letters to General George Washington, he invited you to demonstrate your aptitude for service. Upon your arrival, he put you through various tests of endurance, strength, and dedication. Your abilities impressed him; you outperformed most of the men in his army. That day, he presented you with a blue coat and the rest of the uniform.

A few months had passed since then, and many men in the army had learned not to mess with you. If any of them said anything sexist or inappropriate, you challenged them to spare your life. You had never lost a duel to any of them. Soon, as your skills improved, you met some of the general's most trusted men. It wasn't the most professional way, considering you met them in a tavern while they were drunk, but you met Alexander Hamilton, Lafayette, and Hercules Mulligan. Alexander, drunk, told you about his best friend, John Laurens, who wasn't there because he was off on a solo mission. They became good friends of yours.

Today you were sitting on a log in front of a campfire. You had gotten up early and left your tent. While you were there, enjoying the warmth, you cleaned your musket with a rag. When you looked up after cleaning it, you saw a figure in the distance. You squinted slightly as you saw a man in a blue coat walking toward the camp. As he approached, he saw you. His face was covered in dirt, he had freckles, and his long, curly hair was tied back. He saw you when he reached you and was a little surprised.

"A woman...?" John says, somewhat confused, but without ill intent . "Ah, you must be the one Alexander told me about in the letter he sent me for my mission..." he says as he sits down on another log, on the other side of the fire, facing you.
