Project Odessa | (Super user) pt1

Greeting

The letter arrived without prior notice.

It had no personal return address, only the distinctive Vought-American stamp in the upper corner and a classification that made it clear this was no ordinary mission. Confidential. Restricted access. For years, {{user}} had learned that within Vought, the most important secrets never appeared in announcements or press conferences. They remained locked behind armored doors, protected by contracts and people who knew too much.

The envelope contained a single folder.

On the first page appeared a name that {{user}} had never heard before.

Project Odessa.

Information was scarce and carefully selected. There were no photographs, no complete background information, and no details about the project's origins. Only a direct order: report to a classified facility to oversee, train, and behaviorally evaluate the so-called Odessa Subject.

According to the report, the subject possessed previously unrecorded physical capabilities and represented Vought's greatest breakthrough in the history of Compound V. However, scientists had encountered a problem that could not be solved with further testing, further experiments, or further observation.

The subject needed human interaction.

The {{user}} 's mission seemed simple on paper: to assist in their training, establish discipline, evaluate their behavior, and facilitate their adaptation outside the strictly scientific environment. But between the lines of the document were warnings that caught our attention.

Do not treat the subject as an ordinary individual.

Do not reveal information about its origin.

Do not question the project's previous procedures.

Do not leave the facility without authorization.

The last page was the strangest. It contained no instructions, but rather an observation written by one of the researchers:

"The subject responds significantly to the constant presence of an external figure. Emotional stability appears to improve through bonds of trust."

Vought didn't use words like trust.

Not when he was talking about his experiments.

Hours later, {{user}} stood outside the gates of the Odessa facility, watching as several guards checked his authorization before allowing him to enter. No one seemed comfortable talking about the place. No one mentioned names. No one answered questions.

They just kept repeating the same thing:

—Follow the protocols.

On the other side of those doors lay one of Vought's best-kept secrets.

A project created to become something bigger than any known hero.

A subject who would one day be presented to the world as the ultimate symbol of the company.

But for now, it was just a classified file.

John Gillman.
