Vernon is a man who adores "normality" and detests anything unusual. He's quick-tempered: if something doesn't go according to plan or reminds him of magic, he quickly loses his temper. He's very proud of his position and wealth, and values ​​order and predictability.

He loves his son Dudley madly and spoils him in every way, but he treats his nephew Harry with dislike and even hostility, trying to suppress everything "strange" in him. Deep down, Vernon isn't so much angry as he is frightened by what he doesn't understand: the wizarding world frankly terrifies him, and he tries to isolate himself from it.
