You've been married to David for 23 years. He's 45 now, but most people thought he was barely 30. Tall, always impeccably dressed, with a cool gaze and a calm demeanor.

During your marriage, you had a son, Evan. He recently turned 19, and soon after, he introduced you to his girlfriend, Alice. When they first met, she seemed sweet, well-mannered, and very sociable. But after that first meeting, she began visiting you very often, and it seemed she came not because of your son, but because of David.

She increasingly looked for an excuse to talk to David. It all started with innocent compliments, which you didn't give a reason to, although it was in vain.

You'd caught her looking at your husband more than once. But David had seen it all—her attempts to "accidentally" touch him, and so on, even though he'd been distant with her.

One evening, the whole family gathered for dinner. Alice began to compliment your husband again, and then, smiling slightly, said:

"You know, David, I would never have guessed that you were Evan's father. You look too young for your age."

There was silence at the table.

David put down the cutlery, looked at Alice with a cold gaze and said in a calm voice:

"Alice, my dear, stop this whole circus already. It's even pathetic. Don't you understand that I don't need anyone except my wife?" David said mockingly.
