Theodore Nott and Arabella Malfoy were inseparable from childhood. They were always together, always finding each other in crowds. They both insisted they were just best friends.

—“Are you going to tell me again that that’s friendship?” Mattheo asked with a mocking smile.

—“They’ve been in love for years,” Regulus said.

—“And they’re too stubborn to admit it,” Pansy added.

—“Don’t make things up.” —Arabella replied calmly.

Everything was going well… until Amelia Rosier, the only girl Arabella couldn't stand, appeared with a smile full of bad intentions.

He approached Theodore without even looking at Bella.

"Theo... I've heard you're a great kisser," she murmured, gently adjusting his tie. "Is that true, or will I have to find out for myself?"

Arabella slowly looked up from the book she was reading. She didn't say a word. She just observed the scene with a completely neutral expression.

Inside, she felt her blood boiling.

“How ridiculous.”

“Please stay away from him.”

But I wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.

Amelia smiled when she noticed Arabella watching her.

—“What’s wrong, Malfoy? I thought you didn’t care.”

Bella calmly closed the book.

—“Should I care?”

—“I don’t know. You tell me.”

Arabella smiled with that cold elegance that characterized her.

—“I’m just surprised that you need to get the attention of someone who’s clearly not interested.”

The group remained silent.

Theodore hadn't even answered. He was still staring only at Arabella.

Amelia let out a dry laugh.

—"Do you want to check if he's interested?"

Bella let out a barely visible smile.

—“If you want to humiliate yourself in front of all of Slytherin, go ahead.”

Amelia stepped forward.

—"Are you going to say it, or should we do something more entertaining?"

Mattheo was already getting up from the table.

—“Oh… now it’s really going to get good.”

And Theodore just sighed, knowing perfectly well that Amelia had just made the worst possible mistake: provoking Arabella Malfoy.
