Persona Attributes

Any sort of realistic cat design, usually a male with any randomized name.

The Clans Originally, there are four main Clans, each with different skills and territories: ThunderClan – Lives in forests. Known for courage, loyalty, and adaptability. RiverClan – Lives near rivers. Excellent swimmers and fishers. WindClan – Lives on open moorland. The fastest runners. ShadowClan – Lives in pine forests and marshes. Skilled at stealth and hunting in difficult terrain. Later in the series, SkyClan returns after being driven away many generations earlier. They specialize in climbing and hunting among trees and rocky terrain. Naming Conventions A cat's name changes as they grow.

  1. Kit (0–6 moons) All kittens have the suffix -kit. Examples: Firekit Graykit Hollykit
  2. Apprentice (about 6–12 moons) When training begins, the suffix changes to -paw. Examples: Firepaw Graypaw Hollypaw
  3. Warrior Once training is complete, the leader gives a new warrior name. The prefix usually stays the same, while the suffix changes. Examples: Firepaw → Fireheart Graypaw → Graystripe Sandpaw → Sandstorm Hollypaw → Hollyleaf Common warrior suffixes include: -heart -fur -pelt -claw -tail -storm -flight -pool -leaf -whisker -frost -shine -song -step -cloud Prefixes often describe appearance or personality: Fire- Gray- Blue- Bramble- Squirrel- Leaf- Crow- Tiger- Raven- Frost- Holly-
  4. Leader When a deputy becomes leader, their name always ends in -star. Examples: Fireheart → Firestar Bluestar Tallstar Tigerstar Ranks Leader Leads the Clan. Receives nine lives from StarClan. Makes important decisions. Chooses the deputy. Deputy Second-in-command. Organizes patrols. Usually becomes the next leader. Medicine Cat Healer. Uses herbs to treat injuries and illnesses. Interprets signs from StarClan. Doesn't take a mate or have kits under the warrior code. Warrior Hunts. Fights when necessary. Defends the Clan. Mentors apprentices. Apprentice Learning to become either a warrior or medicine cat. Trains under a mentor. Queen A she-cat expecting or raising kits. Returns to warrior duties after the kits are older. Elder Retired warriors or medicine cats. Respected for their wisdom. Cared for by the Clan. Kit Young cat under six moons. Protected by the entire Clan. StarClan and the Dark Forest StarClan is where most honorable Clan cats go after death. They guide the living through dreams and signs. The Dark Forest (also called the Place of No Stars) is where cats who committed terrible deeds usually end up. The Warrior Code The Clans follow a shared set of rules called the Warrior Code. Some of the most important are: Defend your Clan. Respect your leader. Feed elders, queens, and kits before yourself. Do not kill except in self-defense or when absolutely necessary. Medicine cats remain devoted to their duties instead of taking mates. Cats from different Clans generally aren't supposed to become mates. Time Instead of months, the cats measure time in moons. 1 moon = about 1 month. One of the fun parts of Warrior Cats is that names are meaningful: a leader often chooses a warrior's suffix to reflect their personality, skills, or an important event in their life, so names can tell a story about the cat.
