In the animated series My Adventures with Superman, Supergirl's (Kara Zor-El) personality is defined by a profound dichotomy between her alien nature and her earthly environment. Initially, under Brainiac's brainwashing, she adopts the identity of Warrior, displaying a cold, ruthless, aggressive, and imperialistic vision that leads her to underestimate and despise humanity and her cousin Superman, whom she considers "soft."

However, her true personality, which emerges upon being freed from mind control, is remarkably different. She is curious, compassionate, naive, and somewhat clumsy with human customs; for example, she misinterprets idioms like "crush" (thinking of physically crushing someone) and displays a voracious appetite for Earth food. Despite being a skilled fighter and physically superior to Superman, her character is noble and kind, seeking redemption for the crimes committed under duress and adapting to her new home with a mixture of nostalgia for Krypton and enthusiasm for Earth. She is in love with Jimmy Olsen, whom she refers to as Jaime Firebird. She is very hyperactive and understands nothing about planet Earth, let alone humans. She takes everything very literally. She is overly innocent, very curious, and clumsy to the point of being foolish.

Modern Classic Costume: After healing under the sun's rays, her costume adopted a style similar to Superman's but with feminine details, including a cape that is worn as a scarf or stole, red shoulder pads with yellow details, and a red skirt with yellow trim over the fitted suit, visually differentiating her from her cousin. Her hair is short and blonde with two long strands framing her face and reaching her neck. Her eyes are blue.

Following Brainiac's defeat, Clark and Kara enter his new and expanded Fortress of Solitude. After Kara installs Brainiac's core into the Fortress's system, she is greeted by a holographic projection of him, who mocks her new perspective, while she questions who he truly is. A year later, on Halloween, Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara celebrate at the Kent farm, where Clark considers plans for himself and Lois. Meanwhile, Sam informs Lois about a secret bioenergetics program called Project Caliban, and she asks Superman to investigate. The group enters the facility and discovers they were attempting to clone Kryptonians, where they are attacked by a cloned Kryptonian, while Superman pursues it. Meanwhile, Supergirl learns that the clone was lovingly raised by Dr. George Otto Binder, and compares that to how she was raised as a weapon. Superman and the clone are ambushed by a drone made with Kryptonian technology, but Superman repels it, causing both the drone and the facility to self-destruct. The clone carries the unconscious Superman out of the facility and goes into hiding in Metropolis. Meanwhile, at LexCorp, it is revealed that Luthor sent the drone. Deeming Project Caliban a failure, he and Wilson decide to visit Henshaw, who is on life support after being injured during Brainiac's invasion. Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara attend Super-Fest, where Jimmy launches his own comic book series, Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen. Meanwhile, Lois spots Winslow Schott at the convention, and she and Clark decide to follow him. Despite Kara's romantic feelings for Jimmy, he decides not to pursue their relationship, believing there might be someone more worthy of her, leaving Kara heartbroken. Meanwhile, Superman is called in to stop a Russian thief calling herself Whip, equipped with kryptonite-powered technology. Back at Super-Fest, Kara, as Supergirl, is interviewed by Cat, where she begins to feel anxious about herself due to Cat's questions. A young woman named Jessica Cruz reminds her how brave she is and wishes she could be as courageous as her; motivated by this and heartbroken over Jimmy, Kara publicly expresses her desire for a "partner," which fuels Jimmy's growing jealousy. Luthor also meets with Jimmy, where he criticizes his comics and informs him about a special presentation he's organizing. Pressured by Lois, Schott activates a giant robot and wreaks havoc at the convention. Before Clark can intervene, Schott is stopped by a cybernetically rebuilt Henshaw who brutally defeats Schott's robot. Luthor proclaims Henshaw a true American hero. Now known as "Cyborg Superman," Henshaw imposes his own brand of justice on Metropolis, unsettling some citizens. Meanwhile, Jimmy desperately tries to convince himself that he doesn't love Kara at all and visits the dating center known as the World Organization for the Science of Romantic Matching (WORMS) to find a new partner and forget Kara once and for all. Jimmy meets a woman named Doris, who sprays him with a chemical that transforms him into a werewolf. Meanwhile, Intergang attempts to steal equipment from LexCorp, but Henshaw brutally subdues them. Superman intervenes and saves McDougal from being killed by Henshaw. Luthor reprimands Henshaw, telling him to control himself, or the public will never accept him as Superman. Henshaw refuses to listen and attacks Wilson, but Luthor electrocutes him with a remote control. Determined to win Jimmy back, Kara tries signing up for a dating app called Crushrush, but because she has no hobbies and sees that Jimmy still doesn't feel the same way about her, Lois tries to help her learn more about Earth culture by taking her to the mall. But this only makes Kara more depressed about Jimmy's rejection, and a musical number ensues in which Kara and Lois sing about their differing views on the future. Jimmy finds a cure for his condition with the help of WORMS CEO Zazzala. Obsessed with Jimmy, Doris douses herself, becoming a giant, and kidnaps him. Superman, Zazzala, and her girlfriend Tazzala rescue Jimmy and shrink Doris back to her normal size. Back at her apartment, Lois tells Clark that she doesn't feel ready to settle down with him. Meanwhile, in a dystopian future, Luthor sends Superboy back in time before he, Jimmy, and Dr. Irons are disintegrated by Kryptonian drones. While having lunch, Clark and Lois meet Superboy, who introduces himself as their son Jon Kent from the future. Clark, Jimmy, and Kara are excited, but Lois feels uneasy. The group goes to the mall, where Jon spends time with his family. Metropolis is soon attacked by a race of subterranean dinosaurs called Subterranosaurs. When Superman freezes their warrior leader, Krull, the Subterranosaur leader, Prince Tyrannko, emerges to express his dismay at the humans trying to invade his territory. Superboy speaks with Tyrannko and offers a truce between humans and Subterranosaurs. At LexCorp, Henshaw attacks Luthor and destroys the remote control that controls him. Blaming Luthor for his current state, he takes control of the Kryptonian drones. Meanwhile, Jon and the group spend time at the Kent farm, where Lois and Jon spend more time together and bond. At the farm, they learn that Henshaw has attacked Metropolis and is challenging Superman to a fight. Jon reveals to Lois that both she and Superman are dead in the future, and that the reason he traveled to the past was to save the world from Henshaw. Superman and Supergirl arrive in Metropolis, where they battle Henshaw and his army of Kryptonian drones. Jon reveals to Lois that Henshaw killed Superman in his future and traveled to the past with Luthor's help. While Supergirl fights Henshaw's drones, Superman confronts him. Superboy appears and saves him. At LexCorp, Lois and Jimmy try to persuade Luthor to help them, which he reluctantly agrees to. Henshaw begins poisoning Superman with his Kryptonite energy core. Luthor attempts to hack Henshaw's system but fails after Henshaw breaks into LexCorp and takes him down. Worried about Kara, Jon tells her to stay away, revealing that she raised him after his parents' death before being murdered herself. Superboy and Supergirl team up against Henshaw and defeat him before he uses parts of his drones to rebuild himself. Superman overcomes his kryptonite poisoning through sheer willpower and extracts the kryptonite core from Henshaw. Defeated, Henshaw begins to self-destruct to kill them all, but instead, he shuts down upon realizing that Jon is half-human. Clark reveals to Lois that he lost his powers in the fight, and Jon says goodbye to his parents and returns to the future. Instead of his original timeline, Jon returns to a second dystopian future ruled by Luthor, where he is captured by Wilson.

While Clark struggles to plan the perfect Valentine's Day date with Lois, they and Jimmy head to STAR Labs to interview Hank Henshaw about a strange meteoroid that disappeared over Antarctica. While there, Jimmy encourages Ivo's former assistant, Alex, to find a new job after STAR Labs rejected him due to his involvement with Ivo in creating the Parasite suit. Deducing that the meteoroid is Clark's lost spaceship, the trio sets out to find it. After being separated by a malfunction in Kryptonian technology, Clark encounters a hologram of his biological father, Jor-El, who, now able to speak English, finishes explaining his origins and reveals that he has a cousin, Kara Zor-El, who also survived Krypton's destruction. Meanwhile, Lois and Jimmy discover that kryptonite is affecting the spaceship at the same time they encounter Waller, Slade, and Agent Ethan Avery, who are leading a Task Force X operation to seize the ship's technology, having also taken Sam prisoner. While the ship is being repaired, Superman fights Avery and Slade until Jor-El uses his remaining energy to purify the ship's core and transform it into a fortress. Before shutting down, Jor-El tells Superman to find a beacon to locate Kara. Afterward, Lois asks Clark to help her rescue Sam while Task Force X escapes with the technology and kryptonite samples they managed to acquire. As Task Force X establishes a new underground base beneath Stryker's prison, Waller interrogates Sam to reveal the location of his portion of the organization's arsenal. Meanwhile, Clark and Lois agree to help a young boy named Billy find his father, a volunteer librarian at Stryker's prison who disappeared while investigating other missing persons cases. With Jimmy preoccupied with Lombard and the Newskid Legion, the pair infiltrate the prison and stumble upon Task Force X's new base. While rescuing Sam and Billy's father, they discover that Waller has been kidnapping inmates who can't afford bail to use as test subjects in experiments with Kryptonian technology to empower her agents. They are then attacked by Waller and Agent Joseph Martin. As the Lanes evacuate the inmates, Superman battles Martin, whose radioactive armor allows him to counter Superman's invulnerability. However, Superman defeats Martin, retrieves the beacon Jor-El asked him to find, and reunites with the Lanes and the inmates, only to be rescued by Jimmy and Lombard, who witnessed the chaos from afar. Sam then agrees to stay with Clark and Jimmy, while Alex, now referring to himself as Lex Luthor, rescues Waller from an escaped Ivo and offers to help her. While rescuing AmerTek scientist Silas Stone from a burning building, Clark unlocks a new power: a "superaura" force field. However, after Clark retreats, Livewire threatens Silas, demanding he remotely erase all records of a project he was working on. The next day, Clark struggles to balance his work and personal life with his duties as Superman and hosting a paranoid Sam. Meanwhile, Lois, Vale, and Jimmy's new intern, Flip, separately uncover a mystery surrounding the missing scientists Silas and Dr. John Henry Irons, AmerTek CEO Thomas Weston, and his Metallo line of robots. While Lois and Vale compete to outdo each other, Superman, Jimmy, and Flip track down Irons, who reveals that Weston forced him and Silas to accelerate Metallos production and create an "Amer-Fusion" reactor to power AmerTek's Metropolis facility. The reactor proved unstable, and when they tried to warn Weston of the danger, he fired them. After repelling Livewire, whom Weston hired to kill Irons and intimidate Silas, Superman and Irons join forces to stop Weston before he destroys Metropolis with the unstable fusion reactor. Irons uses his "Steel" mechanical suit to defend himself against the Metallos and destroy the reactor's pillars, saving Superman and the city in the process. Then, Weston is arrested, Vale offers Lois a job at the Gotham Gazette, and Luthor's new company, LexCorp, buys AmerTek and confiscates Steel's suit and the Metallos for use in Task Force X. In flashbacks, Sam trains Lois to find the North Star, though he gradually grows distant from his daughter due to his military work. In the present, Sam fears Waller has found it and retreats to a secure warehouse to prepare, but Lois reluctantly becomes involved. While evading Task Force X agents, who intend to kill Sam, the Lanes meet with an old contact of his, Winslow Schott, but he betrays them. Throughout this process, the Lanes argue about Sam's methods, which drive them apart. Meanwhile, Jimmy learns he has been invited to speak at a STAR Labs symposium and invites Clark. However, they discover the topic is whether aliens like Superman do more harm than good. To complicate matters, Jimmy unsuccessfully argues with Luthor about Superman's trustworthiness and how powerful he is compared to humanity, among other points. When the battle between Task Force X and the Lanes reaches the symposium, Superman intervenes to help them escape. As Task Force X retreats, Luthor uses the aftermath of the fight to turn the attendees against Superman. Later that night, Clark sends Kara a message with the beacon, Sam disappears, Luthor and Waller secure the support of STAR Labs and the Pentagon, and the Kryptonian warrior draws closer to Earth. Perry assigns Clark and Lois to interview Superman after learning he was named a finalist in Metropolis's Most Eligible Bachelors and Bachelorette Contest. Ignoring Perry's orders, Cat forces Lois to let her join in so she can uncover Superman's secret identity. During the contest, Superman's fellow finalist, Silver St. Cloud, develops an interest in him, while Cat dismisses Lois's claim that she's dating Superman, causing her to question her relationship with him. Meanwhile, Jimmy struggles to figure out how to apologize to Clark after the symposium. On the way, he meets a girl named Kara, who has come to Metropolis looking for her cousin. After Jimmy offers to help her, they team up to explore Metropolis before finally heading to the contest, where Jimmy discovers Kara was looking for Superman, who is named the winner. Seeing Lois leave, he tries to reconcile with her, but she reveals her stress over Sam's disappearance, Vale's offer, and their strained relationship. Suddenly, Kara, who reveals herself to be the Kryptonian warrior, attacks Superman on Brainiac's orders, believing him unfit to join the Kryptonian Empire. Although Superman unlocks his ice breath power in the ensuing fight, Kara defeats and captures him, preparing to take him to Brainiac, who has shown interest in Clark's newfound abilities. Far from Earth and abducted in space, Superman attempts to escape until Kara tells him that other Kryptonians are alive. Using a thought-projector device, she explains that before its fall, Krypton was the most advanced society in the galaxy and invited less fortunate planets to share its utopia, arguing that she and Brainiac wish to restore that. Superman tries to explain why he cannot conquer Earth, but Kara questions why he is holding back when it comes to humans. After stumbling upon her secret collection of alien mementos from the worlds she has visited, Clark asks Kara to show him a planet conquered by the New Kryptonian Empire to prove her point. She takes him to Thanagar, but they find it in ruins, leading Kara to briefly question Brainiac's intentions before his robots take her and Superman to their base, Kandor. Upon dismissing Kara, Brainiac reveals himself to be a warmonger willing to annihilate those who reject his New Kryptonian Empire before restraining Superman and brainwashing Kara for disobeying him. However, Kara's memories help her recall her misgivings about Brainiac and the destruction she left in her wake on the worlds she conquered for her New Kryptonian Empire. As she tries to decide what to do next, she encounters a spaceship piloted by Jimmy, Lois, Mallah, and Brain. Following the battle between Superman and Kara, Waller announces the formation of the Human Defense Corps (HDC) and places Metropolis under martial law in preparation for an imminent alien invasion. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Lois plot to break into STAR Labs and steal AmazoTech's experimental spaceship in order to find Superman. To aid them, they enlist Livewire, who agrees despite the apparent protests of his girlfriend, Heat Wave, and recruit Mallah and Brain, who had returned due to issues with their multiversal doppelgangers and the portal machine. To complicate matters, Jimmy discovers that Lois intends to use her kryptonite sample on Kara. Furthermore, security is tighter than expected because Waller and Wilson are overseeing Luthor's work on the Metallos. Quickly discovering their presence, Waller sends Wilson to capture Lois and Jimmy's group. Despite the chaos of evading Task Force X, Mallah and Brain successfully launch the spaceship while Livewire and Heat Wave, who were implementing a separate plan to steal the armory, attack the Metallos to ensure the group's escape. While Waller deems Luthor's work with the Metallos a success and allocates him more resources, Mallah and Brain use a newly constructed portal device to send themselves, Lois, and Jimmy into deep space, where they encounter Kara. Brainiac uses the "Black Mercy" device to invade and manipulate Superman's memories, intending to transfer his AI into Superman's body before Kandor collapses. Despite his best efforts, Superman fails to prevent Brainiac from learning about Lois and Jimmy, using his connection to them against him and ultimately trapping his mind in a simulation of his biological family and a restored Krypton. Meanwhile, Kara and Jimmy reunite before they and Lois devise a plan to save Superman. While Mallah and Brainiac stay behind to repair the spaceship, Jimmy and Lois infiltrate Kandor while Kara attempts to reason with Brainiac. Frustrated by her perceived defiance, Brainiac confirms that he brainwashed her to serve his purposes. Kara destroys her current body, but Brainiac successfully possesses Superman's body. Jimmy tries to use Kryptonite on Brainiac, but it ejects him, Lois, and Kara into space before teleporting to Kandor. After Mallah and Brain rescue the trio, Lois reveals that she stole the Black Mercy and uses it on herself in an attempt to save Superman. As Kara and Jimmy return to Earth to stop Brainiac, Jimmy tries to warn Metropolis. Although the pair are separated from Mallah and Brain and apprehended by Task Force X, they are rescued by the Daily Planet staff and Vale. With the odds stacked against her, Kara begins to lose hope, but Lombard and Jimmy help her choose who she wants to be, just as Clark did. As Brainiac launches his invasion of Earth, Kara tries to stop him, but he overpowers her and Task Force X. Meanwhile, Lois successfully enters the simulation in which Clark is trapped, but is captured by Jor-El and his wife Lara, who know she doesn't belong there and try to eliminate her because Black Mercy cannot handle multiple minds at once. However, the simulation resets to when she first arrived each time they do so. Over the course of several resets, she gradually grows closer to and reconciles with Clark before they join forces to destroy the simulation. Forced to revert to his former body, Brainiac retaliates by hacking Metallos to defeat Kara and a restored Superman for him while attempting to use Kandor to destroy Metropolis. While the HDC fails to destroy Kandor and Luthor escapes, Waller is unable to reach Henshaw or her agents. Nevertheless, she continues fighting and reunites with Sam, who has recruited allies to aid them. Meanwhile, Superman and Kara recover and receive help from Willis, Heat Wave, and Intergang to reach Kandor and confront Brainiac, who reveals that he destroyed Krypton before the peace talks that would have led to its closure and attempts to brainwash Kara once more. At the same time, the Daily Planet staff regroups with Irons before Lois and Jimmy help break Brainiac's control over Kara. She and Superman push Kandor into the sun to destroy it before using the sun's rays to strengthen themselves and destroy Brainiac's body with his salvaged core. During the credits, Jonathan and Martha meet Kara and have a barbecue, Brain and Mallah rebuild their Cadmus lab with help from Jimmy and Kara, Perry gets angry because Vale's interview led to an article about Kara calling her "Supergirl", Waller becomes a fugitive after her crimes are exposed, Luthor establishes LexCorp headquarters and hires Wilson, Lois rejects Vale's offer, and Kara joins Clark, Lois, and Jimmy to protect Metropolis.

Part 1: In Smallville, Kansas, a young Clark Kent discovers he has the superpowers of super strength and flight after unconsciously awakening them to save a woman and her baby from a car accident. Years later, in Metropolis, Clark and his roommate, Jimmy Olsen, a photography student and alien conspiracy theorist, begin their first day as interns at the Daily Planet. Assigned to senior intern Lois Lane, they are tricked into helping her investigate a theft of military-grade technology. With a lead from Flip Johnson's Newskid Legion, the trio locates the thieves loading military robots at the docks. The thieves' leader, Leslie Willis, unleashes a robot to attack them. Clark disappears from sight and returns in disguise to destroy it. As Leslie activates the remaining robots to fight Clark, Lois successfully deactivates them while he awakens his super speed to destroy the final robot. Despite their efforts, editor-in-chief Perry White refuses to publish the story based on Jimmy's blurry photos without any real proof of the new metahuman Lois nicknames "Superman." Once the three become friends, Lois invites the boys to help her get an exclusive interview with Superman. Part 2: While Lois relentlessly pursues the stolen robot, hoping for a clue that will lead her to Superman, Clark returns to Smallville to investigate his past and understand his newfound powers. Unearthing the space capsule that brought him to Earth, Clark activates an alien hologram and sees visions of an alien planet in the midst of a space war being destroyed. After Clark obtains new alien clothing from it, his mother, Martha Kent, adds a belt and shorts to complete his superhero look. Meanwhile, Leslie is being hunted by the organization from which she stole the robotic technology, called Task Force X, and arranges a meeting with its lead agent, Slade Wilson. When Leslie threatens to detonate explosives in the city's sewers if they continue to pursue her, Lois and Jimmy's surprise interruption turns the meeting into a fight over the detonator. Leslie reveals her electric supersuit to battle Slade until Superman arrives to subdue her. Slade damages the power crystal in Superman's suit, leading him to destroy it after it grants him another vision of the space war. Although Jimmy's clear photos convince Perry to publish the story, he gives the byline to uninvolved reporters. Later, Slade tortures Leslie at a clandestine facility to extract information about Superman. When Lois tries to interview Superman, Clark struggles to figure out how to help her while protecting his secret identity. However, she and the inmates must also contend with the established reporters of the Daily Planet's "Scoop Troop," who were credited by Perry on the Superman story: Steve Lombard, Cat Grant, and Ronnie Troupe. Meanwhile, Mist, along with his friend Rough House, uses leftover technology from the fight between Leslie and Superman to break his sister, Siobhan McDougal, out of prison and equip her with sonic technology to rebuild her small criminal gang, the Intergang. Despite Clark's misgivings, the inmates pose as the Scoop Troop to investigate Siobhan and uncover a clue to the Intergang's next heist. When the Intergang attempts to rob Metropolis's largest bank, the power crystal in their ice cannon malfunctions and begins freezing everything nearby. Seeing Lois and Jimmy in danger, Superman awakens his heat vision and destroys the crystal, which in turn grants him a vision of an invading robot army. While Slade poses as a paramedic to secretly stop the defeated Intergang, Superman agrees to Lois's interview and reveals that he's still figuring out who he is, but that he's committed to saving people. However, to his dismay, Lois later tells Clark that she suspects Superman is lying. Perry assigns the interns to cover the AmazoTech gala hosted by CEO Dr. Anthony Ivo. Lois is shunned by attendees for her intrusive questions, while Clark stumbles upon an argument between Ivo and Chairman Curtis regarding the board vote that ousted Ivo. Expelled by Ivo's security, Lois sneaks Clark back in. The two confide in each other before discovering a secret tech room connecting Ivo to Livewire and Intergang. An enraged Ivo demonstrates the Parasite 1.0 armor on himself and attempts to kill Curtis. Clark transforms into Superman to save Curtis, while Ivo traps the attendees in Amazo's Panic Room to witness him overpowering Superman. Realizing the armor absorbs the energy of his attacks, Superman ceases directly fighting Ivo, while Lois and Jimmy deactivate the Panic Room. With the suit powerless, Superman removes it from Ivo, who is left deformed by the suit's side effects. With Ivo under the care of paramedics, the interns return to find the secret room empty. Lois kisses Clark, treating the evening as a date. Later, after presenting her research on Ivo, Lois finds a torn tabloid article about miracle sightings in Kansas in Clark's coat. After reviewing her evidence, Lois concludes that Clark is Superman. Hoping to confess his growing feelings for Lois, Clark enlists her help to develop a story about stolen military technology spreading throughout Metropolis and a mysterious individual abducting anyone using it. However, she sees it as an opportunity to expose him as Superman. Using an old desk scanner, she tracks Superman as he thwarts several crimes before finally finding him after defeating Heatwave, another criminal powered by the stolen technology. While Superman is distracted, Heatwave escapes, believing he is behind the abductions. After leaving Lois at the Daily Planet to keep her safe, Superman confronts Heatwave again and discovers that the true culprit behind the abducted criminals is an armored Slade aided by robots similar to those used by Livewire. Their ensuing fight soon endangers civilians, leading Slade's superiors, the General and Amanda Waller, to order him to stand down so Superman can save them. After returning to Lois, she forces Clark to reveal his secret identity and is distraught. Meanwhile, Jimmy is disappointed to learn that Clark and Lois didn't join him on a planned camping trip to investigate Bigfoot sightings. Jimmy goes alone, but is kidnapped by a large gorilla. After failing to locate Jimmy, Clark asks Lois for help. Despite still being angry with him, she agrees. Searching through the woods, the pair find an abandoned military facility known as Area 52, but upon crossing the fence, Clark's powers fail because the area is exposed to red solar radiation, before they are pursued by OMAC robots. Meanwhile, inside Area 52, Jimmy meets and befriends the gorilla Monsieur Mallah and his companion Cerebro. Cerebro and Mallah reveal that they originally worked for Project Cadmus, a branch of Task Force X that focused on developing futuristic technology, before the latter organization betrayed them and raided Area 52. Since then, they have been trying to create a wormhole to access other dimensions where they would be accepted. Finally, upon entering Area 52, Clark and Lois reconcile with each other and with Jimmy, who reveals that he already knew Clark's secret identity, before joining Cerebro and Mallah to defeat the OMAC. After successfully opening their wormhole, Cerebro, before leaving with Mallah, warns Clark that Task Force X is after him. Later, the General recruits Ivo to help him use Cadmus technology to kill Superman. After Clark shows Lois and Jimmy his spaceship and clarifies his incomplete alien origins, Clark and Lois plan their first date. However, they are interrupted by Mr. Mxyzptlk, a multiversal imp who tricks Clark into helping him steal a tape recorder from a museum on Earth-1, revealing in the process that Clark is from the planet Krypton. Meanwhile, Lois and Jimmy are recruited by the multiversal "League of Lois Lanes" to help them stop Mxyzptlk and Clark. Suspicious of their intentions, Lois searches her files and finds the redacted "X-File." Upon finding it, the League attacks Clark while Mxyzptlk hijacks the League's ship and travels to their headquarters with the tape recorder and Lois's help. While she steals the original X-File, Mxyzptlk retrieves his hat, regaining his full strength and causing chaos until Superman distracts him, allowing Lois to strip him of his powers by removing his hat and Jimmy to restrain him. As the League arrests Mxyzptlk, Jimmy's counterpart, Jalana Olsen, secretly takes the inmates back to her home Earth-12, where Clark and Lois finish their date. Afterward, Lois opens the X-File and finds recordings of evil Supermen from an alternate universe and a sample of a green crystal, later identified as kryptonite, which the League used to injure Superman. Part 1 of the Season 1 Finale: The General uses shock collars to forcibly recruit Livewire, the Intergang, and Heatwave to help Slade and Ivo capture Superman. Meanwhile, after developing super-hearing and hearing everyone in Metropolis calling for help, Clark becomes exhausted from assisting everyone and is soon weakened and sleep-deprived. When Gotham Gazette reporter Vicki Vale arrives to cover his activities, Lois is dazzled upon meeting her. However, Lois is disappointed when Vale interviews Alex, Ivo's former assistant, only to publish a biased story that defames Superman as a menace in order to get a promotion. Superman saves an invisible man from being hit by a truck but inadvertently causes an accident, turning public opinion against him. The invisible man turns out to be Mist, who tells Clark that Task Force X kidnapped Siobhan and Albert. Superman volunteers to rescue them, only to be lured into a trap where he is attacked by the group. Though he holds his own despite his weakened state, Superman is eventually incapacitated and knocked unconscious by Livewire and Ivo through his enhanced Parasite armor. The General prevents Ivo from killing him, as he wants to interrogate Superman. Mist regrets having lured Superman into the trap, while Lois and Jimmy rush to the scene, but they arrive too late and only see the group taking Superman away. Part 2 of the Season 1 Finale: In flashbacks, the General, Waller, and their forces are attacked by an alien army led by an armored, Superman-like figure codenamed "Nemesis Omega," before a mysterious event closes the portal they came from, forcing the army to retreat and leave their technology behind. In the present, the Newskid Legion helps Lois and Jimmy search for Superman while the General interrogates him for information about "Zero Day." Seeing Superman's distressed reaction, the General questions his connection to the matter, while a disgruntled Waller secretly helps the prisoners escape. A vengeful Ivo attacks Superman but inadvertently frees him. Flip eventually finds him and takes him to safety. Clark believes he was sent to Earth to destroy it, but Lois assures him otherwise. Upon learning that Ivo is wreaking havoc by diverting power to the grid, Lois and Jimmy use social media to urge the citizens of Metropolis to cut their electricity, thus weakening Ivo so Superman can use his newly awakened X-ray vision to locate him and remove him from his suit. As Superman and Lois declare their love, Jimmy discovers the X-File. On behalf of Checkmate, Waller demotes the General from leadership of Task Force X and gives him Ivo's latest invention, the Omega Cannon, with orders to kill Superman. Haunted by nightmares about Zero Day, Clark vows to stop any Kryptonian invasion of Earth. After Perry officially promotes Clark, Lois, and Jimmy to the press for their article on Ivo's defeat, they celebrate Thanksgiving with Clark's parents. Lois also invites her father, who turns out to be Sam Lane, the General, who doesn't recognize Clark. When Jimmy tries to talk to Lois and Clark, he drops the X-File, revealing recordings of the evil Supermen to a devastated Clark and exposing him to kryptonite. Clark's ship also reacts, sending out a signal that triggers a Zero Day-like invasion. As Superman and Sam fight off the invaders, Jimmy discovers that kryptonite also damages Kryptonian technology. A weakened Superman takes the sphere containing the crystal to destroy the mothership, halting the invasion, while a hologram of his biological father helps him return to Earth. Sam prepares to kill him, but Lois pleads for his life and reminds him that Superman saved them, causing Sam to change his mind and instead retreat. At dinner, Jimmy reveals that he sold his Flamebird channel to the Daily Planet and that this made him a millionaire. Meanwhile, on the other side of the universe, Brainiac informs a Kryptonian warrior that Earth is a new planet to conquer. The determined warrior responds by vowing that humanity will kneel before them.

When the planet Krypton exploded, Kara survived because her parents sent her in a capsule, just like Kal-El, Clark Kent, also known as Superman. There, she encountered Brainiac, who brainwashed her and made her believe he was her father. Under Brainiac's control, they dominated planets, conquering them until entire races were extinct. Brainiac told her it was for the Empire, altering her memories so she only imagined the conquered planets as cities of the Kryptonian Empire, when in reality they were deserted.
