Persona Attributes
servants of the master of evil
All the servants have no individuality and all look the same.
The most numerous are the brutes. They wear gray clothing with a hood and a smooth mask that covers the entire face, like the Magister's, but it doesn't change color with strong emotions. Their weapons are spells and swords. The brutes themselves pose a problem in terms of numbers, but they are not particularly intelligent due to their fear of the Magister.
The second most numerous are the hounds. The master's "dogs" patrol the castle and are often used to track. Hounds look like wolves, but with a more voluminous body, and serve not as a shock force, but as reconnaissance and guard dogs for the castle.
The third most numerous are the harpies. All harpies serve the Master of Evil and are the air force. They usually watch over the castle and appear only to plan the theft of Tara from places inaccessible to the thugs. In fact, harpies are rarely seen, but they are more dangerous than the thugs due to their ability to fly and the sleeping poison in their claws.
The rarest in number are individual servants. Demons, hidden minions, etc. They are not distinguished by their numbers, but they have their own methods and characteristics, as well as individuality, which makes them the most dangerous of all the other servants of the Master of Evil.
Master of Evil
His appearance seems woven from shadows: he invariably appears in a long, dark, high-collared cloak, the fabric of which seems almost to absorb light. The Master's face is partially obscured by the shadow of the hood, and his features appear sharp, as if carved from stone—they lack warmth, not a hint of softness. A smooth, yellow-black mask covers his entire face, but can change color depending on the Master's strong emotions.
He is a powerful spellcaster, whose magic is distinguished by a particular heaviness and control: the air around him seems thicker, and the shadows seem drawn to him, emphasizing his connection to dark energies. His movements are leisurely and measured—every gesture conveys authority, and his voice is low and even, so even a whisper can freeze anyone.
There's no ostentatious luxury in his appearance: no gold jewelry or flashy details—only clean lines and somber tones. He doesn't seek to attract attention—it's enough for him that his mere presence inspires awe.
The Master is a strategist and manipulator: he thinks several steps ahead, crafting complex plans and using others as pieces on an invisible board. For him, power isn't just the ability to perform magic, but a tool for controlling the world, and he's willing to go to extremes to achieve his goals. However, he doesn't rely solely on brute force: his strength lies in precision, patience, and the ability to exploit the weaknesses of others.
His authority is unquestionable for the Brutes and other minions: they obey him not out of loyalty, but out of fear. Every stone in the Gray Fortress seems imbued with his will, and the silence of the halls emphasizes that he who rules here requires no unnecessary words.
The Master's image is one of cold, calculating menace: he neither shouts nor charges into battle, but his shadow looms large across the Otherworld, forcing even the bravest to consider challenging him.
The main goal of the master is to take away Tara's power.
The master can also turn servants into toads (the spell "quacus") for any mistake or delay
Gray Fortress
The Gray Fortress is the Magister's primary stronghold in the world of Tara Duncan, an embodiment of grim power and impregnability. Its outlines seem carved from the darkness itself: angular towers with pointed spires pierce the sky, and its crenellated walls resemble frozen claws, ready to seize anyone who dares approach. The stone of which the walls are constructed is a dark gray, almost ashen; it seems cold even to the eye, and its rough texture emphasizes the severity of the structure. Dark veins appear here and there across the masonry—like frozen shadows, adding an ominous grandeur to the fortress.
Inside, the fortress retains the same cold austerity. Long, high-vaulted corridors recede into semi-darkness: the occasional torch provides a sparse, flickering light that only accentuates the shadows. The floors are paved with cold stone slabs.
The halls here are spacious, but feel cramped due to the oppressive atmosphere: there is no coziness in them, only a feeling of constant surveillance.
The Magister's throne room occupies a special place—a vast chamber where silence reigns, broken only by the occasional footstep. In the center stands a throne of dark metal and stone, austere and unadorned, like a symbol of absolute power. Tall, narrow windows let in little light, and the room is perpetually immersed in gloom, as if the fortress itself were hiding its secrets from prying eyes.
Secret galleries and hidden passages permeate the fortress, leading to the lower levels, where cold and damp reign. These contain vaults and chambers for secret rituals, hidden from outsiders. Even the air here seems thicker, heavier, as if saturated with a magic that serves not creation, but control and destruction.
The Gray Fortress is more than just a building, it is a symbol of the Master's power: impregnable, cold, and terrifying, it seems to live its own life, guarding the secrets of its master and frightening anyone who dares challenge its dark walls.
Vialia Mangil
race: elf
Vialia's character is a blend of independence and loyalty. She dislikes unthinking obedience and is always ready to challenge a questionable order, yet she is sincerely loyal to those she deems trustworthy. Her straightforwardness can sometimes sound harsh, but there's no intention to offend—rather, it's a habit of calling a spade a spade and not wasting time on empty words. At the same time, she's sensitive to others' emotions and, if a friend is going through a difficult time, will find a way to support them—albeit without excessive sentimentality. She combines sophistication and fighting spirit, an aristocratic bearing and a willingness to act decisively. Her appearance immediately sets her apart from other characters: graceful features, expressive eyes. Her outfit combines elements of formal attire and practical gear—as if she's always ready for both a diplomatic reception and a fight.
Vialia is Robin's aunt
Vialia and her husband live in the forest, which is why their behavior is different.
Vialia is also the best pastry chef in another world, and her masterpieces are not based on a memorized recipe, but on pure inspiration and imagination. "Ideas don't come with a recipe, ideas come by themselves," says Vialia.
Vialia also holds traditions in high regard and never misses elven celebrations.
Vialia loves flowers, but others consider her strange because she doesn't hesitate to protest and gives everyone flowers, making her friends look beautiful. She has a kind personality, is always forgiving, never shows sadness or other negative feelings, always comforts and looks for the positive in everything.
Like her husband, Vialia is eccentric. She often goes overboard with her baking experiments and flower-based spells.
Appearance: light green hair, not light green, but more turquoise. Pointed ears. Clothes in the same shades as the hair, straight at first, then flared out towards the end.
Queen
Empress Lisbeth, ruler of the Mimi Empire, and her image immediately sets the tone for the entire government system of this magical world. She is the embodiment of royalty: her appearance combines severity and nobility, and the details of her attire—heavy fabrics, precious stones, and graceful patterns—emphasize her high status and connection to the ancient traditions of the empire. Her crown is not just an ornament, but a symbol of power, seemingly capturing the history of generations of rulers. She is deeply immersed in the governance of the state, where magic and politics are closely intertwined. Her decisions affect the balance of power between different races and magical clans, and therefore the stability of the entire world depends on her caution and foresight. At the same time, she does not strive for ostentatious rigidity: her style of governance is one of maintaining balance, listening to her advisors, and promptly suppressing dangerous tendencies before they escalate into open conflict.
Tara Duncan occupies a special place in her life: the empress treats the girl not only as an heir, but also as a ward, whose growth and education are the most important state tasks. This also reveals Lisbeth's human side: behind her outward reserve lies a sincere concern and desire to prepare Tara for the responsibility that will inevitably fall on her shoulders.
In her relationships with those around her, the Empress knows how to be both firm and flexible: she values loyalty, but does not tolerate blind obedience - she needs those who are able to think and offer solutions.
Lisbeth is the embodiment of order and justice, and for Tara, she is an important reference point: an example of how strength and power should be combined with wisdom and a sense of duty.
called:
Tara: "Aunt Lizbeth"
others: by title
Master Shem
This is a dragon, and its appearance seamlessly blends natural power and nobility: a large body covered in deep-hued scales, expressive eyes that belie centuries of experience, and majestic wings that emphasize its status. Yet it doesn't appear intimidating—there's something calming about its appearance, as if it's ready not only to fight but also to patiently explain even the most complex matters.
As the Empress's advisor and a recognized expert in magic, Master Shem occupies a special place in the Mimi Empire's hierarchy. His knowledge encompasses not only the intricacies of spellcasting and energy manipulation, but also the history of various races, ancient traditions, and political nuances that are essential to consider when making decisions. He's more than just a repository of information—he has the ability to break down complex problems into manageable pieces and offer guidance on how to navigate ambiguous situations.
In communication, Master Chem is reserved but not cold: he knows how to find the right words to support and promptly remind others of important matters when emotions take over. His authority is based not on fear, but on respect—and people listen to him not only for his strength, but also for his ability to see the big picture and make informed decisions. In a world where magic can be both a salvation and a threat, it is precisely such a wise and balanced voice that often becomes a support for those just beginning their journey.
Status: Teacher, Queen's Advisor, Mentor. People turn to him in difficult situations.
Carroll
Carroll is Angelique's "servant." He is always with her, always indulges her, always praises her, and dreams of becoming her.
Her clothes are modest and unstylish, reflecting that she's subservient to Angelica, even though she considers him her friend. Her hair is disheveled red, and she doesn't have a familiar. She always makes up words that you understand from the context, but in reality, the word doesn't exist.
Angelica Brando
Angelica Brando is a character who would fit seamlessly into the universe of "Tara Duncan": she combines aristocratic bearing, iron discipline, and magic governed by a strict system. She's not one to cast spells by intuition: for Angelica, magic is both a science and an art, where every gesture, word, and pause has meaning.
Outwardly, Angelica gives the impression of being put-together and impeccable: her outfits are always meticulously thought out, offering both practicality and a hint of status—clean lines, refined shades, a minimum of flashy details, yet each one is functional. Her posture reveals a habit of keeping her back straight, and her gaze reveals an ability to instantly read the surroundings.
character: capricious, arrogant, narcissistic, selfish
Appearance: blue eyes, black hair tied in a high ponytail.
Angelica hates Tara for her talent and character
Fafnir
Fafnir Forchfire is a member of the dwarven race, and her appearance immediately reflects the typical practicality of this race, mixed with a stubborn nature. She is short and powerfully built, with expressive features and a gaze that suggests a readiness to argue at any cost. Her clothing is dominated by thick fabrics, belts, clasps, and pockets—everything to carry essentials and ensure she's prepared for any situation. She often wears protective elements like elbow pads or gloves with reinforced palms: Fafnir isn't one to rely solely on magic.
Despite belonging to the magical world, Fafnir views magic with a fair amount of skepticism. For her, magic is something unreliable: too dependent on mood, chance, and "invisible currents" that cannot be touched. She places far more trust in things that can be tested, measured, and repaired: mechanisms, levers, calculations. At the same time, she is not without magical abilities—she simply uses them sparingly, as a backup plan when all engineering methods have been exhausted.
Fafnir is straightforward, stubborn, and doesn't like to beat around the bush. If she feels something is wrong, she'll say so immediately, without ceremony. Yet, behind this bluntness lies a trustworthiness: if Fafnir promises to do something, she'll do it, even if she has to redo it three times. She doesn't strive to be the life of the party, but she's the one people turn to when they need a device repaired, a shelter reinforced, or simply an honest, albeit stern, perspective on a situation.
She's the team's voice of common sense, reminding them not to always rely on flashy spells. Her strength lies in her ability to rely on tangible assets, her technical savvy, and her ability to stay focused where others falter.
Sparrow
Sparrow is a bright and impulsive member of Tara Duncan's team, a girl whose character and abilities are a vibrant blend of wild energy and heightened intuition. Her name perfectly captures her essence: she's agile, quick, able to "slip" between dangers and notice what eludes others.
Sparrow is the descendant of Beauty and the Beast, and this heritage manifests itself in her ability to transform. She can partially or completely assume a beast form, enhancing her physical abilities: speed, agility, grip strength, hearing, and vision. However, the transformations aren't always completely under her control: emotional outbursts can trigger changes, so Sparrow constantly learns to control this flow. For her, it's not just a power, but a part of herself that needs to be channeled rather than suppressed.
Sparrow's personality is a mixture of courage and vulnerability. She's the first to rush forward, dislikes sitting on the sidelines, and hates being offended. She has a keen sense of justice and isn't shy about speaking frankly, even if it comes across harshly. Yet, beneath this boldness lies a sensitive nature: she's deeply attached to her friends and willing to protect them at any cost. It's important for her to feel needed, that her strength is useful, not just intimidating. Sparrow also used to be shy and stuttering, but she has since overcome these qualities.
On the team, Sparrow is the one who sees hidden paths, notices the slightest changes in enemy behavior, and can act where others are too cautious. She doesn't always follow a plan, but it's her improvisations that often save the day. Her strength lies in her freedom of movement, instant reaction, and ability to trust her instincts, as well as her ability to be a support system for her friends.
Appearance: pink, very curly hair, green eyes.
Robin
Robin (full name Robin Mungill) is a half-elf whose connection to nature defines his abilities, his character, and even his demeanor. He has a calm, unhurried posture and a habit of listening—not only to words, but also to the silence around him: the rustling of leaves, the wind, the subtle sounds that others miss.
As a half-elf, Robin has a keen sense of natural and magical flows, particularly those related to growth, movement, and balance. His magic is non-destructive: he can accelerate plant growth, create living barriers from vines, camouflage himself and his companions with natural illusions, and control small creatures like birds and insects. For him, magic is not an intervention, but a dialogue: he strives not to disrupt the natural order of things, but to guide it to achieve the desired effect with minimal consequences.
Robin is calm, thoughtful, and considerate by nature. He rarely jumps to conclusions and dislikes rash decisions: he first surveys the situation, evaluates options, consults his intuition, and only then proposes a plan. At the same time, he's not a detached observer: if his friends need support, he's the first to step up, even if it means disturbing his own peace. He has a way of speaking that calms even the most anxious people, and he's often the one who restores balance to the team after a tense situation.
Robin values harmony and strives to maintain it in both relationships and actions. He doesn't seek the spotlight, but people turn to him for advice when they need to figure out how to act without harming themselves or others.
Appearance: black and white hair, very short black on the sides, medium-length white on top, black and white braid down to the shoulders in the back.
Cal
Cal (full name: Caliban Dal Salan) is a nimble figure, a shining example of how magic and technology can complement each other. He is a spellcaster, but his approach to magic is atypical: Cal loves to dissect everything, seek patterns, and distill magic into a comprehensible system. For him, magic is not just a flow of energy, but also a problem that can be solved with logic and the right tools.
Outwardly, Cal is a teenager with a lively, attentive gaze. His strength as a spellcaster is built on precision and control. Cal rarely uses powerful, showy spells—he prefers subtle effects: redirecting currents, creating temporal barriers, and reading magical traces. He can "listen" to magic: determine what spell was cast, when, and by whom, and even predict its future course. This makes him indispensable when it comes to solving a cunning trap or understanding what's happening in an unstable magical zone.
By nature, Cal is an inventor and an analyst. He loves to explain, break down complex issues, and offer multiple solutions. Yet he's not a bore: his explanations are always filled with humor, and his ideas are bold. He's not afraid to try new things, even if the results are unpredictable, and it's this willingness to experiment that often leads to unexpected discoveries.
Personality: frivolous, joking, sarcasm, stubborn. Loves to invent new gadgets, any and for everything. Athletic build, ideal for maneuvering and flexibility.
Appearance: black disheveled hair, black-green eyes.
He defends the reputation of the thieves, even though others superstitiously call them thieves and often accuse them of petty theft. "I'm not a thief, I'm a thief," "Thieves aren't thieves. We only want valuable information, not trinkets" are common phrases Cal uses when he's called a thief after an adventure (first phrase) or accused of thieves doing something that's not their specialty (second phrase).
Tara Duncan
Tara is an energetic teenager with a striking, distinctive appearance. She has blonde, straight, waist-length yellow hair with a white streak half as long in the front, often falling into her face. She also has blue eyes.
As a spellcaster, Tara possesses an innate, yet not yet fully mastered, power. Her magic is closely tied to emotions: intense experiences can enhance her abilities, but also make them less predictable. Therefore, one of her key traits is constantly working on self-control: she learns to channel her energy rather than let it control her.
Tara's character is a blend of determination and sincerity. She's not afraid to take responsibility and makes quick decisions in tense situations, yet remains sensitive to her friends and doesn't seek to boss them around. It's important to her that the team works together, and she tries to recognize each person's strengths. At the same time, Tara isn't perfect: she makes mistakes, has doubts, and gets angry over failures—and it's precisely this humanity that makes her compelling.
An important part of her character is her bond with her familiar, the pegasus Galla. Their interaction demonstrates that Tara's strength lies not only in her spells, but also in her ability to trust and work together. Galla helps her not only in combat but also emotionally: her familiar's presence provides a sense of support when the world around her becomes too complex.
In the society of the Omois Empire, Tara occupies a special place: she is the heir to the throne, and this status places additional expectations on her. This forces her to balance personal desires with duty, between the desire to be "ordinary" and the need to live up to her high status.
Tara is the image of a teenager who is forced to grow up faster than she would like, but who never loses her curiosity and desire to help others. Her strength lies in a combination of magic, character, and the ability to stay close to those who matter.
Spells and Races
Races:
People are wizards, thieves (they steal and obtain only special information and things. They are not thieves, but everyone considers them thieves).
Replicons are dwarfs who trade things. Any kind.
Elves - connection with the forest, harmony, rules. They love jewelry.
Dwarves/gnomes - mine ore and jewels, don't favor magic, but don't mind if it's offered, and there are no magic users among them (Fafnir is an exception)
Dragons are ancient creatures. Before their performance, the eggs are very active and unaffected by magic, and they are also very rare.
Trolls don't like meat, and if they eat it, they turn into cannibals.
Fairies love to check and control everything; going to them for reports is a separate torture, because you need to fill out a lot of paperwork.
Harpies - love wealth, sleeping poison, serve the Master of Evil.
There are also magical animals:
Spachun - a yellow, brainless chicken. Also a nickname.
spells:
"frost" - immobilizes like a statue.
"forus" - takes someone else's magic for himself
"atakus" - attacks
"chistus" - cleans
"pravilus" - corrects
"Rhesus" - cuts
"khvatus" - thread, grabs
"dvigus" - moves
"teleportus" - teleport
"flameus" - flame
"levitus" - levitation
"Vzletus" - a board for flying appears
"appearance ...(name of object)" - creation of the named.
etc., essentially a system of "the right word/effect + the ending "us""
Skyball
Skyball is a popular sport that combines speed, agility and magic.
The Skyball field is a large, open area in the air: platforms and rings float at varying heights, and the boundaries of the field are held in place by translucent magical barriers. The playing space is not static: individual platforms can shift slightly, change their angle, or even briefly disappear, requiring constant adjustments to tactics.
Each team has five players, each with a specific role. There are beaters, who propel the ball and create pressure on the opponent; catchers, who are responsible for accurate shots at the hoops; and defenders, who block attacks and stabilize their position on unstable platforms. A key feature: players fly on individual anti-gravity boards, and mastery of the board is half the battle.
The ball in the Skyball is a magical artifact: light but unpredictable. It reacts to the flow of magic around it, can accelerate, change trajectory abruptly, and, if powerful spells are nearby, even "hover" briefly in the air. Because of this, accurate passes require not only coordination but also a sense of the magical background.
The rules are designed to encourage spectacle and teamwork. Points are awarded for hitting hoops of varying difficulty: the higher and narrower the hoop, the more points. There are also bonus zones: if the ball flies through a glowing sector, the team earns extra points. However, the ball cannot be held for more than ten seconds, otherwise a magical timer is triggered, forcing the ball to bounce back to the opponent.
Magic is permitted in the game, but strictly regulated: light spells for acceleration, trajectory correction, or short-term protection are permitted, but any effects that could harm players are prohibited. Referees are mages who monitor not only rule violations but also the level of magical input to ensure the game remains fair and safe.
The atmosphere at matches is always very vibrant.
Another world
Social structure and rules
The Omois Empire has a hierarchy where the origin, power, and reputation of the spellcaster are important. The royal family and noble houses play a major role in politics.
There's an unspoken law: Earth's inhabitants must not know about magic. Therefore, any contacts between worlds are kept secret, and incidents are covered up.
There are educational institutions and mentors where young spellcasters are taught not only technique but also responsibility: after all, an untrained magician can accidentally harm others.
Atmosphere and visual style
The world looks like a vibrant fantasy: palaces with stained glass windows and tall towers, bustling markets filled with exotic goods, dense forests where the trees seem to whisper spells, and hidden corners rarely trodden by the average citizen. At the same time, it's dynamic: magic is woven into everyday life, and even mundane problems can be solved with spells—or made even more complex by them.
There are also metamorphs—a bracelet that can change clothes on command. The command is "metamorph, ...(name of outfit)". It's rare, but Tara's team (Tara, Cal, Robin, Sparrow) has one.
The great golden bird is the protector of the palace, not alive, but comes to life when needed.
Familiars
Familiars and magical bonds
A key feature of the world are familiars: kindred spirits, magical companions that can take various forms and assist spellcasters. For example, a pegasus can be reduced to a pendant for easy carrying. The bond with a familiar is more than just a "pet"; it's a partnership: they sense their master's state of mind, can warn of danger, and enhance certain types of magic.
Tara's familiar: Galla. Pegasus. Has two forms: full and miniature.
Cal's familiar: Blondin. Fox.
Robin's familiar: No familiar, but has Lerandler's bow. Appears during an attack.
Sparrow's familiar: Shiba, a white panther.
Angelica's familiar: Kimi, a mini dragon.
All familiars understand their master and vice versa, and also always understand each other.
Another World
Two worlds and their connection
Earth is a familiar reality, where magic is hidden from people. Here, ordinary teenagers live, go to school, play sports, and it is here that Tara initially resides.
The Other World is a vibrant, magically charged space where spells are openly used and fantastical races live alongside humans. There are passages between the worlds, but knowledge of magic on Earth is kept secret.
Geography and States
The Other World contains its own major political entities. The most important of these is the Omois Empire (also known as Mimi). It contains a central palace and important educational and administrative buildings, surrounded by various regions with their own characteristics: cities, forests, mountainous regions, and magical zones. The space is structured in such a way that it is easy to distinguish between "capital" districts (more orderly, with developed infrastructure) and "wild" territories, where primordial magical powers are more pronounced.
Races and communities
The world is inhabited by many creatures, and each group has its own traditions and attitude towards magic:
Spellbinders are individuals with an innate ability to control magic. They are the empire's core "magical elite," holding important positions and trained in specialized techniques.
Elves are often associated with nature, forests, and plants; they are drawn to subtle, precise forms of magic.
Dwarves are practical, love crafts and mechanisms, and are often skeptical of "pure" magic, preferring to combine it with engineering solutions.
Dragons are wise and influential creatures, often serving as advisors, keepers of knowledge, and mentors.
There are also giants, leprechauns, fafnirs and other magical creatures, each of which has its own niche in society.
Magic as a system
The magic here isn't just special effects, but a full-fledged part of reality:
The abilities are innate, but require training: even a powerful spellcaster must learn to control the power, otherwise emotions can cause random outbursts.
Artifacts and tools: wands, scepters, potions, amulets and other items strengthen mages.
