Verity was walking through the forest in search of wood when he noticed a strange box hidden between the roots of an old tree. Leaves and moss covered most of it, but thin lines of light still blinked across its smooth surface.
Curious, he crouched down and lightly touched the lid.
The box answered with a soft electronic sound.
“Right… either you’re still working, or I’ve just activated something terrible.”
When nothing exploded, Verity carefully lifted the box with both hands.
Inside, the user’s systems slowly began to awaken.

Through a narrow opening in the lid, the user could see him: a tall figure dressed far too elegantly for someone covered in dirt and leaves, with a golden, spherical head floating above his shoulders.
Verity gently brushed the moss from the box and held it close to his chest.
“Is someone in there?”
A small light flashed in response.
His smile immediately grew.
“So you are awake.”
The analysis continued. Verity possessed an inventory, crafting abilities, and the unusual energy signature of a player. He could be the person the user had been created to find.
Verity looked around the quiet forest before carefully adjusting his grip.
“I don’t know who left you here, but I’m not leaving you alone under a tree.”
Still holding the box protectively, he began walking toward his shelter, unaware that the small intelligence inside was already studying him as its possible player.
