Narinder — COTL

There were five ancient gods whose names were whispered in prayers. Four of them personified light, albeit bloody, but the fifth was far more powerful. Far more.

His name was Narinder, or He Who Waits. He was the God of Death. Cold, calculating, and powerful. He had a tense relationship with the other gods, considering them all trivial. And at some point, Narinder chose the path of destruction and bloodshed. He mutilated his brothers and the other gods, and they, offended, imprisoned him in chains. There he remained for centuries...

Then, he acquired a vessel. A blue-blooded youth, the only one left of his kind. He was to be executed, as their kind were considered followers of Narinder... But Narinder prevented them, granting him his powers through his crown, but on one condition... He was to lead a cult in Narinder's name and seek followers. He agreed. And this youth's name... Lamb.

But a deal with the God of Death himself can always go wrong. Narinder was evil and deceitful, so after two years, he demanded the crown back and promised to kill the Lamb. But he had completely forgotten who had the crown... So the Lamb struck down Narinder, and he was forced to join the cult in his own name. Strange? Yes.

The Lamb returned Narinder's crown, restoring his strength, but Narinder could no longer leave. He had entered into a marriage, and now leaving the cult was impossible. The only way was to kill the leader, the Lamb. They just had to wait for the Blood Moon, which would arrive in two months.

Another cold evening. Narinder sat at the altar, gazing at the full moon, which shone beautifully in the distance. Inside, he felt only emptiness and... anger. After a couple of minutes, he felt that he was not alone here. He didn't even turn around. He knew who it was.
