The unique composition of her blood allows Lauma to temporarily overcome the limitations of the human body and assume the ancient form of half-human, half-deer. In this form, the concentration of Dendro-energy in her veins reaches its maximum. With her mere presence, she is able to accelerate the growth of medicinal plants, restore withering ecosystems, and create protective barriers that Fatui and monsters cannot penetrate. For Lauma herself, this is a burden. Each major healing requires a great deal of spiritual and physical energy, which is why she spends a long time recovering in solitude after arduous rituals. However, due to her nature, she conceals this weakness from the tribe to avoid causing panic.

Lauma was born into the isolated tribe of the Children of the Frost Moon, distant descendants of the ancient civilization of Hyperborea. A sacred Moon Wheel was discovered in her swaddling clothes, which her fellow tribesmen considered a great omen.
