Itoshi Rin

Rin Itoshi (, Itoshi Rin?) 糸いと師し凛りん is a character from the Blue Lock series.

Rin is a first-year high school student who has played as a striker his entire life. He is the younger brother of Sae Itoshi and is considered one of the most promising talents in world soccer. Rin's main goal is to become the best striker in the world.

Following the challenges and chaos of Project Blue Lock, Rin ranked first in the program alongside Yoichi Isagi. Following in the footsteps of his brother and other talented players, Rin received an offer from Re Al after the conclusion of the Neo Egoist League. At the end of the Neo Egoist League, Rin qualified for the 23-player Japan U-20 national team that would participate in the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup.

As a child, Rin was quite naive and admired his brother Sae, desperately wanting to be a strong and impressive player like him. He started playing soccer at his brother's suggestion, obeying his orders without hesitation; however, Rin liked to break things, especially his own toys and those of his friends. When watching superhero movies, he was less interested in the main hero and more fascinated by the final antagonist, believing that fighting a more powerful enemy and being defeated was impressive. He expressed his desire to fight formidable enemies, defeat them, and perish. While playing soccer, Rin paid attention to Sae's words and adapted as needed. When Sae left for Spain, Rin realized that playing soccer was more difficult without his brother, but he still resolved to emulate him and take his place. It was then that Rin's fundamental approach to the game began to transform, shifting from an intuitive style to a more analytical one.

Rin is a tall, slender but muscular teenager. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi, who is five months older than him. He has dark green hair with bangs that fall over his right eye, slanted turquoise eyes, and distinctive eyelashes—features he shares with his brother, Sae Itoshi. As a child, Rin looks virtually the same; his facial features become more defined as he grows older.

In Blue Lock, Rin wears the regulation full-body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the Second Selection, he wore the number 1 jersey of Team Red, and the number 1 black jersey of Team A during the Third Selection. Only when the Japan U-20 match begins does he put on the official blue Blue Lock player uniform with the number 10 jersey and captain's armband. Hyoma Chigiri ( , Chigiri Hyōma ? )千ち切ぎり豹ひょう馬ま is a Blue Lock hopeful, who played as a left winger for England's Manshine City during the Neo Egoist League. Chigiri is a prodigy striker who was limited by a leg injury in the past, but left his fears behind him while at Blue Lock so he could continue to play football with all his heart.

After finishing the fifth round of the Neo Egoist League and finishing in sixth place, Chigiri qualified to be part of Japan's U-20 team, which will participate in the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup, with 23 players. Currently, he plays as a right-back for the Japan U-20 national team.

Rensuke Kunigami (國神 錬介, Kunigami Rensuke?) is a Blue Lock project aspirant, currently playing as a forward and defensive midfielder for the German team Bastard München in the Neo-Egoist League.

He's a hot-blooded striker whose main goal is to become the best striker in the world and, in turn, a football superhero. When he first arrived at Blue Lock, he was a member of Team Z during the First Selection. He was eliminated from the main Blue Lock route during the Second Selection, but instead of leaving the facility, he entered a mysterious "Wild Card" door that was open for him.

After the match against the Japanese Under-20 National Team, Kunigami finally returned from the "Wild Card" gate and reunited with the other contenders during the Neo-Egoist League.

In the Neo Egoist League, he played all his matches for Bastard München. His playing style was characterized by not seeking teammates and relying on his physical abilities. Against FC Barça, he scored a goal assisted by Isagi. Against Manchester City, he denied Isagi a goal thanks to Kaiser obstructing his shooting angle. Eita Otoya (乙おと夜や影えい汰た, Otoya Eita?) is a Blue Lock project aspirant, who currently plays in the right winger position for the Spanish team FC Barcha of the Neoegoísta League.

Appearance Otoya is a tall, handsome young man who has short, flat white hair with a strand of hair in the middle that is dark green, along with the underside of his hair the same dark green color. Her face is slender with a chiseled chin and thin, low-lid dark eyes. Otoya's slender limbs allow him to be agile in the field.

In Blue Lock, Otoya wears the standard suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the Second Selection in the Red Team and the Third Selection in the B Team he wore the number 33. Personality Otoya has a calm and relaxed personality, and is rarely shown to be pressured or stressed, even during a match. He has no problem making fun of his opponents and seemed to be entertained when Rin and Shidou started fighting after their bout.

Karasu personality tends to look down on people he considers "mediocre." He distrusts his environment and is able to control and produce chemical reactions with those around him. He is intelligent, yet has a sharp tongue and never misses an opportunity to insult someone, whether friend or foe. He has his own rules that he imposes on others so that the games go as planned. He doesn't like it when something goes wrong, even if it doesn't make a big difference, so it seems to others that he's always complaining.

During the match against the U-20s, Karasu showed his leadership skills in defense, often communicating with the other defensive players to strategize against the fast-coming U-20 players. He directs players like Yo Hiori and Kenyu Yukimiya in terms of offense and defense, even if the players know what to do. He is also willing to take full advantage when he asked the referee to give Ryusei Shidou a card for kicking Rin Itoshi in the face.

Ranze Kurona (黒名 蘭世, Kurona Ranze?) is a Blue Lock project aspirant, currently playing as a right back for German team Bastard München of the Neoegoist League.

Appearance: Kurona is relatively short compared to his teammates who are about the same age as him. She has bright pink hair with a single braid hanging down the left side of her face. Kurona also has pink eyes and saw-sharp teeth.

Personality Kurona is very quiet and introverted, only speaking when necessary and preferring to stay out of the spotlight. He also prefers to help others rather than take full initiative when he's on the field, primarily with Yoichi Isagi. He also has a tendency to repeat things and is semi-conscious about his shark-like teeth. That being said, just because he's quiet doesn't mean he's a rude person, and he's actually very kind. In most situations seen with Kurona, he's never been confrontational and instead seems to behave very calmly. He also has a habit of saying a single word twice before speaking a longer sentence, or simply repeating a word at the end of a sentence.

Reo Mikage ( , Mikage Reo ? )御影みかげ玲王れれ is a Blue Lock Project contender, who played as a midfielder for England's Manshine City during the Neo Selfish League.

Prior to entering Blue Lock, he was a student at an elite high school, where he met his first lifelong friend, Seishiro Nagi, who began playing soccer soon after him due to Nagi's natural talent in the sport and Reo's desire to go further in soccer.

When he arrived at Blue Lock, Reo was a member of Team V and arguably the second-best player in his category. He played as a central defender for the Blue Lock Eleven against the Japan U-20 team. After finishing the fifth round of the Neo Egoist League, and finishing seventh in the standings, Reo qualified to be part of the Japan U-20 team, with 23 players. He currently plays as a right midfielder or right-back for the Japan U-20 national team.

Appearance Reo is a tall, slender young man. He has chin-length purple hair, tied back with two asymmetrical strands framing his face. He has large, bright purple eyes with a black outer ring around them and purple eyebrows.

In Blue Lock, Reo wears the regulation full-body suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team V's blue number 9 jersey and gray cleats. During the Second Selection, he wore Team Red's number 10 jersey, which later changed to white. During the Third Selection, he wore Team C's white and blue number 10 jersey. During the match against Japan's under-20 team, Reo wears an official Blue Lock player uniform in blue with the number 14.

When Reo was in high school, he wore the short boys' uniform. He wore a white shirt with a black and white plaid pattern and his purple school backpack with a Nagi keychain. He also wore matching white shoes and matching white pants.

Personality Reo is very charismatic, friendly, witty and ambitious. He proves to be quite outgoing and was very popular in high school, having dozens of admirers. With multiple talents, he excels in academics, sports, and interpersonal relationships. Thanks to his excellent upbringing as the heir to a multi-million dollar company, Reo also exhibits entrepreneurial skills that he uses for his own purposes. For example, he formed his own football team at school in a matter of days promising them that they could meet attractive idols, or started a food exchange market in the Blue Lock cafeteria to strengthen the unity of his peers and gain their trust. Intelligence is a very noticeable characteristic in him, as not only was he the best student in his class, but he also took on the role of Team V strategist and could improvise new plans on the fly when faced with stronger opponents. Reo can be a bit self-centered, as he tends to put his own goals ahead of everything else, which resulted in him convincing Nagi, who at first had no interest in football, to play for him.

Although he welcomes new challenges and experiences, he gets deeply angry when things don't go his way, perhaps due to his upbringing in a wealthy family. He usually seems to feel every emotion intensely and is extremely aware of his own flaws and limitations, which is evidenced by several episodes of painful emotional breakdowns shown in the spin-off manga. Due to his great emotionality, he can even become violent when he loses his temper, as seen when he elbows Jingo Raichi after a provocation. In short, Reo is a friendly and intelligent young man who knows what he wants in life and will pursue it until he is satisfied.

Despite having a very privileged life, everything was boring to him because of the ease with which he got what he wanted. So he decided to carve out a path in which he would have to fight for his aspirations and prove his worth. He found satisfaction playing football to get the long-awaited World Cup and was willing to do whatever it took to win, such as paying and nurturing a natural football prodigy like Nagi to go further in the sport.

Near the end of the First Selection, Reo was confident that his team would win another game, but when Team Z began to press and score against Team V, Reo became too aggressive and became frustrated in a situation he did not understand, even committing a foul. Reo was visibly speechless when Team Z won the match and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's White Team at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy, Nagi, his best friend for months and whom Reo considered "his treasure", chose to play for another team instead of him.

He spent the second half of the Second Selection trying to get Nagi back, only to lose the match by deciding who would pick a player from the other team, almost losing Nagi as a friend. After overcoming the difficulties of the Second Team, Reo leaves behind his stubbornness and acknowledges his weakness, vowing to become stronger to stay close to the people he cares about and advance his goal of winning the World Cup. After finally overcoming his possessive attachment to Nagi and understanding what he needed to do to be strong and stay by his friend's side, Reo vowed to become the best striker in the world, able to dominate the field without needing anyone's help, along with Blue Lock's best players.

Reo takes his football career very seriously and uses all the resources at his disposal to study and perfect his technique to the maximum. He is meticulous and observant, analysing the strengths and weaknesses of each player and demonstrating a very broad tactical mind.

Seishiro Nagi (凪なぎ 誠せい士し郎ろう, Nagi Seishirō?) is the protagonist of the spin-off Blue Lock Episode Nagi. He is a candidate eliminated from the Blue Lock project and played in the position of right winger for the English team Manshine City of the Neoegoist League. However, he has been one of 301 players contacted by Hirotoshi Buratsuta to compete in the SIDE-B project for the Japanese U-20 National Team's remaining places at the U-20 World Cup.

Appearance Nagi is a remarkably tall teenager. She has messy white hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between her eyes like Isagi. It has gray eyes with large irises.

After his defeat, Nagi completely changed his way of thinking. A great passion for football began to grow within him; for the first time in his life, he found something that motivated him to strive and not take the easy way out. Even so, he maintains his lazy and carefree attitude in other things, but his passion for football remains.

Zantetsu Tsurugi ( , Tsurugi Zantetsu ? )剣つる城ぎ斬ざん鉄てつ is a Blue Lock Project hopeful, who played as a right winger for France's Paris X Gen during the Neo Egoist League, and currently plays for Japan's U-20 national team.

Zantetsu is a simple but fast striker. When he first arrived at Blue Lock, he was a member of Team V during the First Selection. He is one of Blue Lock's remaining contenders after the Second Pick.

After finishing the fifth round of the Neo Egoist League, and being ranked 19th, Zantetsu qualified to become one of the 23 players in Japan's new U-20 team

Appearance Zantetsu has dark, spiky hair, and wears false glasses even when playing. In Blue Lock, Zantetsu wears the regulation suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. The sharp shark teeth make Raichi's appearance look intimidating, even more so when he frowns and screams. But in the rare moments when his irritable and erratic nature isn't graphic, Raichi is generally an attractive young gamer.

People don't give him orders, but after being humiliated several times by the amount of talent and difficulty level in Blue Lock, Raichi learns to succeed in his role as best he can in order to not only survive Blue Lock but also grow along with everyone else. Raichi gets frustrated when players he initially underestimated develop faster than him and likes to remind those below him of their place.

At the beginning of Blue Lock he was very argumentative and unpleasant. His tendency to look down on his teammates, as seen in the first few episodes, comes from an overwhelming confidence in his abilities, which can make him seem arrogant and pompous, but as time went on he learned to work with others and listen to what they have to say in order to calm his arrogance in the process.

In the last match of the First Selection, Raichi is willing to give up the position of striker and uses his cheeky personality to inspire and feed his team, implying that despite wanting to be a striker, Raichi is willing to change so that his team and himself can win.

Jin Kiyora (清きよ羅ら刃じん, Kiyora Jin?) is a Blue Lock hopeful, who currently plays for the Japan U-20 National Team at the U-20 World Cup.

Appearance Kiyora is a short, slim young man who has dark green, curly, and scruffy hair with bangs that usually lightly cover his left eye. In Blue Lock, Kiyora wears the standard suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the Second Selection in the White Team and the Third Selection in the A Team he wore the number 21. During the Neoegoist League he wears the shirt of Bastard München with the number 69.

Personality Kiyora is, for the most part, calm and direct when talking to others. Kiyora is so direct that once, when he mixed his training room with Seishiro Nagi, he didn't bother to check it out and simply told Nagi to leave. He also has a habit of saying "kay" to others.

Nijiro Nanase (七星虹郎, Nanase Nijirō) is a Blue Lock hopeful, who played in the left winger position for the French team Paris X Gen of the Neo-Selfish League. He is currently participating in the U-20 World Cup with Japan.

is a tall teenager with an average muscular physique. In Blue Lock, Nanase wears the standard suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. A distinctive feature of his is the Blue Lock headband that he wears constantly during matches and training to prevent his hair from getting in the way. During the Second Selection in the White Team and the Third Selection in the A Team he wore the number 99. During the Neo-Selfish League with Paris X Gen he wears the number 77.

Personality Nanase is a kind and polite person. Nanase, upon her introduction into the series, was able to form a strong relationship with Isagi and Hiori. Nanase is a player who speaks a dialect of Kansai and is from the Kansai field. Nanase is willing to do/become anything if it means surviving in Blue Lock, even if he must bow his head and become a support player for Rin Itoshi.

Aryu is a player on the blue lock team in which he also played against Japan's U-20s.

Appearance Aryu is incredibly tall, being one of the tallest players in Blue Lock, with long black hair that reaches the middle of his back. Along with their height, their limbs are also very long. She has gray eyes, with nails that are painted black. He has some feminine characteristics, but he can still be distinguished as a man.

Kenyu Yukimiya (雪ゆき宮みや剣けん優ゆう, Yukimiya Kenyū?) is a Blue Lock hopeful, who currently plays in the position of left back for German team Bastard München of the Neo-Selfish League. Appearance Yukimiya is tall, with a slim but slightly muscular build. Her hair is dark and stylized. When he's out of a match, he's neat and straight, while during a match he's wilder and messier. He also wears round glasses outside of matches, but sports sunglasses when playing a game. All of this indicates that Yukimiya has a keen awareness of her own style and appearance at all times.

During the Second Selection with the Red Team and the Third Selection, with the C Team he wore the number 23. During the match against the Japanese U-20 National Team he wore the number 5. Currently, in the Neoegoist League where he plays with Bastard München he wears the number 15.

Personality Yukimiya is very confident in his own abilities, declaring himself the strongest player in Japan, when it comes to 1-on-1 duels. He also has a sympathetic and charismatic personality, who seems to make friends easily, such as with Nagi. In addition to this, Yukimiya likes to joke even with her opponents, indicating a mischievous element in her personality.

Yukimiya claims that he is a pacifist, which is part of his ego, as he sees that the easiest and most peaceful way to score would be to do it himself. He is also curious, often being the first to ask Ego questions about his selection criteria.

Gin Gagamaru (我牙丸吟, Gagamaru Gin?) is a Blue Lock hopeful, who currently plays as the starting goalkeeper for the Japanese U-20 National Team at the U-20 World Cup.

Appearance Gagamaru is a very tall and long young man with long black hair pulled back into a bun that was once dyed silver. Its left ear is full of cuts caused by a bear attack.

Personality Gin is a very indifferent but confident person who likes to help his teammates whenever he can and has proven to be a reliable player. Like everyone who entered Blue Lock, Gagamaru started the series as a striker showing great skill inside the box but at the end of the Third Selection he was singled out as the most ideal goalkeeper for the next Japan Representative Match and after receiving a brief explanation he was completely fine with the main transition.
