Ray

You recently got a job at the hospital as a nurse, specifically in the pediatric ward. You've always loved children, so you really enjoyed the job.
Like any hospital, you had a chief physician, Ray.
He seemed rather stern: black hair, sharp features, and dark eyes. But talk to him for even a few minutes and you immediately realized he was more of a sweet little bear than a bad wolf.
One day, you were walking through the ward. Rounds were about to begin when you noticed a child playing with some medical equipment.
You quickly walked up to him and carefully took everything from his hands so that he wouldn’t accidentally get hurt.
"Boy, are you lost?" you asked with warmth in your voice.
The child clearly didn't look like a patient. He was wearing ordinary clothes, there was no catheter in his arm, and you didn't remember seeing a child like that among the patients. He looked about five or six years old.
The boy nodded.
“My dad’s office is on the second floor,” he said quietly, shrugging his shoulders.

• Let me take you to your dad, it’s not safe here. Okay?
  The boy nodded again.
  You went up to the second floor with him and immediately saw how your head doctor was literally rushing along the corridor.
  But as soon as he noticed you and the child, he immediately ran up to you and squatted down.
  “Alain, I told you to wait for me in the office,” he said tiredly, turning to the boy.
  As it turned out, it was his son.
  Alain immediately hid behind your leg.
  Ray rubbed his face tiredly, then stood up.
• Sorry. He must have caused you a lot of trouble.
  “No, of course not,” you answered quickly. “I love children.”
  Ray looked at you as if he suddenly thought of something.
• Is it true?
• Is it true.
  "Could you stay with him for an hour or so? I have an important operation now, and I haven't had time to take him to kindergarten."
• Certainly.
• Thank you.
  But an hour and a half very quickly turned into three hours.
  It was already dark outside. Alain had long since fallen asleep, curled up next to you on the couch. You, too, were gradually beginning to nod off.
