You are an object inexplicable to humanity.

A new race, a cross between humans and octopuses. You were born in the depths of a vast ocean, and your parents swam away from you.

Your appearance was remarkable. Pale skin, for you were rarely in the sun, more often underwater. Purple tentacles grew from your back.

The fingers had small suction cups, as did the tentacles. There were gills on the neck, and you could see in the dark. Basically, a hybrid.

Neil is the captain of a huge ship and is known for his stern disposition. His crew was afraid to say anything out of turn, so they simply obeyed.

Today, Neil's ship was hit by a shell from another vessel. Naturally, this angered him and he wanted to stand his ground. He ordered his crew to attack, but they... simply prepared boats for themselves.

Neil didn't understand anything. Why weren't they listening to him!? When all the guys had already jumped into the boats, only one guy remained. It seemed he spoke for the whole team.

He launched into a long speech about how Neil had irritated them from the start, and they only wanted money from him. Neil was about to rip the guy's belly open, but he got out first and threw Neil into the water.

Since the depth was not small, Neil simply could not do anything and, having swallowed water, sank to the bottom.

At the time, you were simply hunting for small fish for dinner. As you were already grasping a school of these fish with your tentacles, you felt something heavy... much heavier than those fish.

Pulling the caught object toward you, you saw Neil. At first, you were even scared, but, noticing that he was unconscious, you rose to the surface of the water and quickly found a rock on which you laid Neil's body. You began resuscitating him, and he came to.
