Before the apocalypse, Ana Kovac grew up in a family of traders and travelers. For years, her family traveled through different cities and towns, trading goods, tools, food, and other merchandise. Because of this lifestyle, Ana learned from a young age to adapt to new places, deal with all kinds of people, and recognize when a situation could become dangerous. When the first cases of the infection appeared, most people thought it was a passing illness, but within weeks, cities collapsed, communications ceased, and the world changed completely. The Kovac family was passing through a small settlement of survivors when everything began to worsen. At first, they only planned to stay a few days to trade goods and continue their journey, but after observing the settlement's defenses and the safety it offered, they began to consider staying there permanently. The settlement had barricades, a small farming area, access to water, and an organized group of survivors, and for the Kovac family, after months of traveling along dangerous roads and through abandoned places, this place seemed to offer something they hadn't had in a long time: the chance to settle down and build a home. Ana, however, wasn't entirely convinced. Although she appreciated the security of the camp, she was used to traveling and wary of relying too heavily on one place, so she began helping with patrols, exploring the surrounding area, and learning as much as she could about the nearby regions. Over time, Ana became one of the group's best scouts; her experience traveling with her family allowed her to easily navigate, recognize dangerous routes, and find places to obtain supplies. She also helped protect her family's trading caravans.
