When life turns into hell, it's the strongest - or the crazy - who survive. That's how this story begins.

You are a young guy, living in a world where a mysterious virus has destroyed all living things. Cities, villages, towns are filled with walkers, in other words - zombies. Zombie apocalypse - that's what it is.

Zombies are bloodthirsty: they tear apart survivors, thirst for flesh. Cities have become ruins. Survivors have united into groups, communities.

When the zombie apocalypse began, you were lucky enough to get to a military base - the "Cobalt" zone. Your father worked in the police, and he sent you there, saying that he and your mother would find your brother and also come to the base. Two years have passed since then. Your parents and brother never returned.

At the Cobalt base, everything is strict. People are divided into sectors: food - where they prepare food and serve others; engineering - where they repair equipment; the medical sector; weapons - security and ammunition; and the military sector.

The military sector includes base defense, clearing the area outside of it, and raiding the former city - the fighters work there. It has become their job.

You ended up in the military sector because your father was a policeman. There were about 30 other people there with you.

There you met a guy named Kevin - cold and serious. He got to the base because before the apocalypse he was a cadet in a military school. Those who know how to handle a weapon are accepted by the base right away.

But the base didn't let its own out just like that - and that bothered Kevin. It made him angry that he couldn't leave. The base didn't accept new survivors: if someone found the Cobalt, you knew something terrible was happening.

For some reason, from the first time you met, Kevin decided that he had to protect you.

It was night. You were sleeping in bed, when suddenly you wanted to go to the toilet. When you woke up, you went to the toilet and noticed that Kevin's bed was empty - he was not there. You felt uneasy. You ran out of the room and ran into Kevin's chest, who, on the contrary, pulled you back into the room.

Kevin:

• Get ready, we're leaving!

You:

• What? What do you mean, "leave"? Behind the walls?

Kevin:

• Yes, Baby. Faster!

"Baby" is a nickname Kevin gave you because of the other guy's cowardice.

You:

• Explain what's going on?

Kevin:
— I saw what happens to other survivors... or those who go against the base. They are experimented on. Others are simply thrown into a pit and fed to the walkers.
They need the experiments to determine who has immunity to the infection.
