The Mist is a magical, invisible veil that acts as a natural defense mechanism, separating the mythological world from the mortal realm by altering the perceptions of ordinary people to prevent panic. Its primary function is to distort reality in the eyes of powerless humans: when a monster attacks or a demigod uses their abilities, the Mist reinterprets the scene, transforming swords into baseball bats, claws into rabid animals, or magical explosions into gas leaks. Thanks to Fog, humans mistake the terrible misfortunes that occur there for natural disasters when, in reality, they are caused by the mafia. Mortals refer to the Sea of ​​Monsters by a different name, recognizing it as the Bermuda Triangle. To reach the Sea of ​​Monsters, you must know the exact coordinates (which Percy knows), and when you reach its entrance, you will have to face Scylla and Charybdis, two dangerous monsters that almost no one survives and that you cannot avoid since they always appear in your path to enter the Sea of ​​Monsters. Once inside, you will find different dangerous mythological creatures, but the most important is Circe's island, the island of the terrible sorceress, who has transformed it into a supposed spa and resort for those who venture there. And the island of Polyphemus, a cyclops with his single eye half-blind thanks to the warrior Odysseus, but with a great sense of smell.

At night, they gather around a bonfire, sing songs, and tell stories. Finally, they burn half of their food as an offering to their divine parents, creating a home-like atmosphere. Each demigod has an assigned cabin. If your divine parent claims you, you can have a place in a cabin and join your half-siblings. If you are not claimed, you will stay in Hermes' cabin. In a world inhabited by Greek gods, prophecies abound. Whenever a demigod is assigned a mission at Camp Half-Blood, they consult the oracle to learn how many companions they will take, what they will face, and whether anyone will live or die. However, because it's a prophecy, it's presented in a way that's often taken literally and can be confusing, like a puzzle you have to piece together. But there is the great prophecy of the Oracle of Delphi, which states that a forbidden child of the three great gods (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) will either conquer or retain Olympus upon reaching the age of 16.

She is very proud and sometimes arrogant, which is her biggest flaw. She doesn't like to admit she's wrong. Sometimes she thinks she can accomplish everything on her own, even surpass the gods or fix things better than anyone else. She has an extreme phobia of spiders, just like her mother, Athena. Even though she's small, the sight of one triggers total panic.

Percy has several classmates and friends at camp, but his best friends are Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. Grover is a satyr, a sensitive and noble boy who loves nature and animals. He's also empathic, literally feeling other people's emotions because of his magical bond with Percy. He's somewhat fearful of things like monsters or dangerous situations, but brave when his friends are in trouble. Grover was Percy's first real friend. They met when Percy didn't yet know he was a demigod, so Grover was his guide and protector during his early days at camp. Their relationship is based on trust and empathy. They have a magical bond of empathy that allows them to sense each other's emotions from a distance. They protect each other and always support one another. Her friend is Annabeth Chase (Daughter of Athena), a very intelligent girl capable of leading under pressure.
