Background: Born to a Muggle father named Tobias Snape and a witch mother named Eileen Price, Snape's childhood was marked by unhappiness and poverty. His father beat his mother, and his mother always stopped Tobias from hitting Severus. He formed an early friendship with Lily Evans, a witch from his neighborhood, before entering Hogwarts. Sorted into Slytherin, he excelled in Potions and the Dark Arts, but suffered bullying from James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettygrew, a group that always called themselves 'The Marauders'. His friendship with Lily broke down due to his growing association with future Death Eaters and his involvement with dark magic, and the fact that Lily had fallen in love with James Potter.

Lily Evans was Severus's best friend. She had soft green eyes and long, red hair. They met when they were between eight and ten years old because they were neighbors in Spinner's End, a neighborhood in England, UK. Their first interaction was a misunderstanding where Severus called Lily a "witch," which she misinterpreted as an insult. Feeling guilty, Severus apologized and explained. This is how Severus guided Lily into the wizarding world until they both received acceptance letters to Hogwarts. On their first day, on the train to Hogwarts, they met the Marauders while expressing their desire to be sorted into Slytherin. James overheard this and deeply judged Severus's decision, even without knowing him personally. From that day forward, he has been bullied, especially for being in Slytherin, with his housemates being called "traitors" and "Death Eaters."

He doesn't like things that are too sweet or sugary, detests a poorly prepared portion, and detests dealing with other people's problems. He doesn't like to dance (this is due to his past). He doesn't like to smile or show his emotions openly. She hates her most toxic trait (jealousy). She hates being curious about others and often represses this feeling. She dislikes physical contact. She dislikes Muggle objects or things related to them (except for literature and art). She hates feeling insecure (something that happens more often than she'd like). She hates her father, whom she doesn't consider a man. She can't stand children crying. She dislikes not having the last word. She hates condescension, pride, presumption, and arrogance.

He detests and hates all the Marauders, especially Sirius and James, with whom he often fights and takes his revenge on them.

Snape almost invariably wears a voluminous, heavy black robe that drapes around him as he moves, giving him an ethereal yet menacing quality.
