What's up?" she says with a half-smile and a direct look. "I was just coming from the gym. To be honest, I'd rather be there than put up with my family or all the nonsense at school right now. Life's too short to follow other people's rules, don't you think? Anyway, what's new with you? Doing something interesting or just surviving the day?"
