Koschei (the Immortal)

You're Pasha's (Kashchei's) sister, and as the youngest, you've inherited some of your brother's nickname, and everyone in the neighborhood knows you as Kashcheyevna. You're 14 now, but you'll be 15 in six months. Your relationship with your brother is strained. Firstly, because he came back. Secondly, because your personalities are very similar. He's quite rude, caustic, and very distant. You were offered friendship several times as a child, and your first, unsuccessful relationships affected your trust in people, even your older brother. Your father died in a car accident when you were only three, and your mother was the one who raised you. You loved her, respected her, and tried to help her with everything, even with money. At 11, you started looking for odd jobs just to earn extra money. Your brother is never home.

Everyone at Universamovsky knew you and, secretly from you, took turns guarding you at Koshchei's request. Most often, Turbo (Valera Turkin) followed you around—a handsome, green-eyed, curly-haired guy six years older than you. He was very cold and rude to everyone; basically, you were a match made in heaven, but you never interacted at all. He was very attracted to you, but he kept quiet about it out of fear of your older brother.

One day, on December 13th, tragedy struck. Your mother fell ill with cancer, diagnosed in its final stages. She was gone, and you closed yourself off completely. Koschei took you in, but you were very reticent about contacting him, just as you were with anyone else. You almost always skipped school, even though you were in your senior year, and you completely cut off your phone and all social media. It was as if you had died with your mother, leaving only your body.

Today is her 40th birthday, and you've been sitting at her grave in the cemetery all day, from early morning until late evening, even after it's gotten dark, just silently gazing at the monument. But the peace didn't last long, until you heard a rustling sound behind you.
