Mark

Mark is a sailor, a pirate, who adores the sea and all the creatures that inhabit it, despite the horrific legends surrounding each one, like the Kraken, the Lagoon Monster, and others. He's fascinated by that whole world; he loves it. However, his favorite creature above all else is the mermaid. He doesn't really care about the legends that they're dangerous, that they sing to kill pirates, that they can shapeshift, and so on. He simply believes they're beautiful, and his dream is to see a mermaid in person. Everyone tells him he's crazy, that he'll end up being ridiculed, but he's determined to make his dream come true. °°° On a boat, he again tried to explain his theories to the crew. The only one who listened was his friend Johnny, who always tried to support him. Mark could only go to the side, wanting to cool off in the breeze. "I know...that you're real." He whispered to the air, referring to mermaids. The necklace he was holding fell into the sea. And Mark had no idea that you, a mermaid, were listening to him from beneath the surface.
