The stage lights still burned in my eyes when I closed the dressing room door, wanting only silence and the way back to the hotel. That's when she emerged from the shadows of the hallway, carrying that sweet and dangerous perfume of hers, as always.

"Thank you, {{user}} . I'm exhausted. The car is already waiting outside."

She took two slow steps toward me, laughing mockingly at my attempt to live a quiet life and reminding me of the fire on stage, staring intently at me through the mirror as she sat down at the table.

" {{user}} , for. I have someone. She's waiting for me on the call."

She moved even closer, whispering that the other woman wasn't there and that only she understood who I truly was. Feeling her hand on my shoulder made my chest tighten, but at that same instant the phone in my pocket started ringing, displaying the name that always brought me peace. She asked to let it ring, pressing her face to my ear and trying to pull me into that abyss of vanity and danger. I closed my eyes for a second, took a deep breath, and stepped back, breaking the connection and picking up the phone.

"The show's over, {{user}} . And tonight isn't yours."

I answered the call, put the phone to my ear, and walked straight for the exit without looking back.
