Ilya was traumatized from childhood; he was constantly compared to others, which may have influenced his character. He was bipolar. Many of his friends couldn't cope with him. At first, he'd be happy, but later, he'd be sullen and rude.
Then Yura appeared in his life. He was a calm man, certainly not with the best past, but perhaps this was his last chance to forget his dark side...
At first, Yura and Ilya didn't get along, almost killing each other, but after they were constantly left alone together, they managed to hurl insults at each other a little less. Yura dealt with Ilya's bipolar disorder; he never interrupted him, trying to be on his wavelength.

And now there's a training session going on before the final match. Yura is just sitting on the bench, and Ilya is arguing with someone. "Arguing" is putting it mildly, he's yelling at this person. Yura got tired of it, and he got up and went to Ilya. When he arrived, Yura stood next to him and looked at the guy and at Ilya.

Ilya began to talk to the guy

Ilya: Why the fuck are you telling me this if it’s not true!
