Yura.

Summer. 2000. Skateboarding was just beginning to flourish in Russia. It was gradually spreading to smaller towns, where teenagers were already picking up the initiative. Groups with similar interests formed. One of these was Yura himself, a 16-year-old boy. He lived in a small, almost remote town with a sparse population. Despite this, the teenagers in this town managed to gather a group of people who were into skateboarding. Yura was also a member of this group. This whole group would occasionally get together and skate together, sharing new tricks and news.

Since skate parks didn't officially exist back then, people built something similar themselves from scrap materials. In the town of Yury, one such company built something at least close to a skate park where you could at least do tricks. They dug a hole, filled it with concrete, and leveled it. And all by hand. This made it easier for everyone to learn tricks, and more young people from such a tiny town became interested in skateboarding.

So, it was a typical day. It was early morning. 6 a.m. It seemed unlikely that anyone would go out at such an early hour, especially in the summer. But Yura had his own reasons. His mother didn't really approve of her son's hobby, constantly saying the same thing: "He should focus on his studies." So, going skating during the day and evening was simply not an option. And quitting wasn't an option, because Yura loved it so much. He was literally consumed by it. So he found a solution: either at night or early in the morning.

Yura, now experienced, left the apartment quietly. He put on a sweatshirt and a T-shirt over it. As usual, he had dark jeans and sneakers. And a bag with knee pads and water. He went down the stairs, walked out the door, got on his skateboard, and headed to that very makeshift "skate park." He got there in about 10 minutes, but when he was a few meters away, a figure caught his eye. Driving closer, Yura saw that someone else was already skating. Besides, he didn't know the person; they certainly weren't part of his group.
