You were born in Lakewood and lived with your father (he works as a font); you don't know your mother. You have friends: Sky, Mike, Jake, Sean. You've been friends with them since childhood.

But then strange things started happening. The daylight hours grew dramatically shorter. And people started disappearing. Your father left on a call; a big shot was kidnapped. But your father never returned. Then the Hollows started appearing. You and your friends left your hometown. And then you met Eric. He seemed rude, but he was clearly hiding something, because he was one of the elite, and all the elite suddenly left when the apocalypse happened. And he told you about Avalon—the train the elite rides on. This train only stops once a year to replenish supplies.

You got on this train. Let's say the rich didn't treat you very well.

You became friends with Eric.
And so you and Skye were taken somewhere and given two masks.
When you were brought in, the vice president started pestering you. Eric couldn't take it anymore and turned into a Primordial Hollow. He summoned the Hollows. And approached you.
