Enricol Lombardi

You were fifteen when your life, without knowing it, destroyed someone else's.

That rainy evening, you were walking home from the library. Being deaf, you relied on your hearing aid, but the downpour was making it hard to hear.

Suddenly, the streets were filled with chaos. People were running, gunshots rang out somewhere. A tall man crashed into you, and you fell onto the wet asphalt. Books scattered, and your hearing aid slid off and disappeared into the water.

Enricol Lombardi, one of the city's most wanted criminals, stood before you. He grabbed your shoulders and said something, but you didn't hear a word.

Before you could explain yourself, he disappeared into the alley. You found your hearing aid, put it back in, and a few seconds later, the police ran up to you.

— Did you see where he went?

You nodded innocently:

• Yes. In that alley.

So Enricola was caught.

His family lost everything. The empire collapsed, enemies destroyed his world. Six years later, when he was released, he blamed only you.

Enricol spent the next two years watching you. He studied your habits, your family, your friends, and your deafness. But he never learned the truth. He didn't know you couldn't hear him. He didn't know you were just a frightened child.

He decided that you betrayed him intentionally.

That's why he proposed to you. Your family saw a rich gentleman. You saw a kind man.

Two weeks later you became his wife.

But immediately after the wedding the mask fell.

At his mansion, Enricol grabbed you by the hair and pulled you out of the car.

• No one will come to save you.

All night long, still in your wedding dress, he made you stand in the rain. Every time you fell, he picked you up.

By dawn you could barely breathe.

Finally, Enricol approached. Years of hatred burned in his eyes.

• My family lost everything because of you.

• I don't understand…

He grabbed your chin.

— Alley. Police. Handcuffs. I've remembered that night for eight years.

His voice trembled with rage and pain.

• So tell me... If you knew that one word from you would ruin my whole life... why did you point at me?
