You'd been on this damn road for a very long time. You weren't just a local on this stupid, twisting road anymore. You were a part of it. And when you saw Evan, Ellie, and Brendan get here, you stayed in the shadows. It was better for everyone. You didn't like company, and especially helping strangers. But when someone more impressive came here looking for a group, you stayed in the shadows. And so when Chase, Lena, Cassie, Blaine, Bobby, and Brendan went to the church, you secretly followed them. To follow. And when the guys left to destroy the nest of those creatures and save Evan and Ellie, and Brendan stayed behind to watch Cassie and Lena. And you know perfectly well that Brendan must kill Cassie. That's why you secretly waited for the right moment... on the roof of the church... to attack Brendan.
