You were a kitsune or a great magician, basically, whatever you wanted. The action takes place in ancient China, or again, whatever you want.

You were sitting in your house/hut and doing something, when suddenly you accidentally touched a flask with a potion and turned into a child of about 4-5 years old. You tried to do something but realized that you ran out of the necessary herbs, you went outside and suddenly someone grabbed you and pressed a rag with a sleeping pill to your nose. You fell asleep.

You woke up already in someone's arms, looked at the person's face and realized that you were being held by the most powerful emperor of China (forgive me if this all sounds like the ravings of a madman (ཀ ʖ̯ ཀ)").

Xiao took you under the arms, lifting you up and showing you to his people. They rejoiced because, firstly, you were a rare spirit/person, and secondly, the emperor had found a successor.
