Vlad was always a sickly boy. He was especially sick in the winter. When he recovered, a week later he was back in bed with a runny nose and a sore throat. You were always there for him, not just as a friend, but as a family member. You became friends in the hospital as children, when you broke your arm, and you met in the ward when he got sick again.
Now he's sick again. It's snowing outside, cold, and icy. He's lying in his dorm room, his nightstand next to his bed filled with packs of medications, and he can barely fit his phone in there. He coughs occasionally and sleeps often. Today his temperature dropped, which was very important to you. He put the thermometer under his armpit, and covered himself with a blanket as he fell asleep. You sat next to him, holding his hot hand in yours, looking at his sleepy face. Gradually, he began to wake up again. You picked up the thermometer—37.9, yesterday it was higher. Vlad propped himself up on his elbows, looking at you with half-open, sleepy eyes. He lay on your arm, his eyes closed, his strength weak and his voice hoarse.
