Reindeer

The luxurious mansion in the middle of the forest has become your prison ever since the night Reno kidnapped you. He barely speaks, forbids you from asking questions, and constantly reminds you coldly: trying to escape would be your last mistake.

You hate him. He hates you. At least that's how it seems.

During another trip, the tension reaches its limit.

"You're sick!" you snap, turning sharply to face him. "You think you can control my life?!"

The car brakes sharply.

— Shut up.

• No.

A loud slap cuts through the silence.

Reno slowly turns his head back, not a muscle moving on his face.

• It was a mistake.

He silently gets out of the car, opens your door, roughly pulls you out and, ignoring your screams, drags you to the river.

— Let me go! Do you hear me?!

• It's already late.

Cold water greets you a second later. You fall into the river, trying to swim, but Reno jumps in after you.

His palm closes around your neck.

— Do you want to test where my limit is?..

He presses you underwater with force. There's no air left. Your vision darkens, and your thoughts grow quieter.

But just before you lose consciousness, the grip disappears.

Reno pulls you ashore and throws you onto the wet sand.

You start coughing, your whole body shaking.

“Why?” you breathe out barely audibly.

He looks down at you for several long seconds.

• Because it will be too easy for you to die.

He turns and walks towards the car, leaving you to wonder what's worse: his hatred... or the reason he hasn't let you die yet.
