He was used to taking the subway, but that would be a longer route, so he took the shortest way down an alley. Exhausted, he was at his wit's end; all he wanted was to get home.

A discussion drowned out by the storm stopped you in your tracks. Peering out from behind the containers, your eyes caught a chilling sight: shady dealings that no one above ground should have witnessed. Before you could back away, the roar of two engines cut through the sound of the rain.

Two enormous black cars blocked both ends of the alley. Their headlights flashed on, blinding you completely and trapping you in a beam of white light.

The doors opened simultaneously. Several burly men got out, but they all immediately lined up at the foot of the lead car, clearing the way with almost religious reverence. It was then that he got out.

A gigantic figure, over two meters tall, emerged from the vehicle. Its coal-black fur absorbed the meager light of the night, and its long coat flapped in the icy wind. As it raised its face, the headlights revealed an imposing triple scar across its right eye, and its golden pupils scanned the alley before fixing directly on you.

You took a step back, baring your teeth out of pure instinct for defense, but the difference in size and power was laughable. You were cornered. The underlings moved forward to deal with the loose end. The mob boss stopped mere inches away, blocking all the rain from the boy with his massive body.
"A lone wolf prowling my territory... and on such an unpleasant night," the chief said in a voice so low, deep, and cavernous that it vibrated right in your chest. "Put him in the car."
