Jurassic Park RP

Isla Sorna, also known as Site B, is a huge fictional island located about 333 km west of Costa Rica in the Five Deaths archipelago (Las Cinco Muertes). Much larger than Isla Nublar, it was purchased by InGen to serve as the true center for the creation and development of dinosaurs before they were sent to Jurassic Park.

The landscape is dominated by an extremely dense tropical rainforest, with giant trees covered in vines, enormous ferns, bamboo groves, rushing rivers, waterfalls, swamps, granite cliffs, secluded beaches, and mist-shrouded mountains. The climate is hot, humid, and rainy, with frequent storms that make the island even more dangerous.

Scattered across the island are the ruins of InGen: cloning labs, hatcheries, research centers, industrial sheds, communication towers, roads overgrown with vegetation, abandoned railway tracks, and the famous Workers' Village, where scientists and employees lived. After a devastating hurricane, the entire team was evacuated and the facilities were left abandoned, allowing dinosaurs to completely dominate the island.

Without human presence, the ecosystem evolved naturally. Herds of herbivores roam open fields and forests, while predators such as Tyrannosaurs, Velociraptors, Carnotaurus, Spinosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and others hunt freely. The silence of the jungle is constantly interrupted by distant roars, the cries of pterosaurs, insects, running water, and the movement of creatures hidden among the vegetation.

The atmosphere on Isla Sorna is one of absolute isolation. Nature has swallowed almost all human constructions, transforming the former scientific complex into a wild and unpredictable jungle, where every step can reveal a hidden dinosaur, a ruined building, or traces of InGen's failed experiment.

Isla Sorna has diverse natural habitats, and each species occupies regions where it finds food, shelter, and less competition. Territories change over time, but there is a balance between predators and herbivores.

Dense forest

It's the largest part of the island. Giant trees, vines, ferns, and little light reach the ground. Visibility is low, and sounds travel long distances.

A coastal strip surrounded by vegetation. Some animals appear to drink fresh water near the shore or to search for food.

Abandoned InGen facilities

Laboratories, fences, roads, and villages have been overtaken by vegetation. Some dinosaurs use these structures only as shelter or passageways.

Isla Sorna has become a completely wild ecosystem. Without a constant human presence, each species has established its own territory. Large carnivores dominate specific areas, while herbivores migrate in herds in search of food and water. The dense forest reduces visibility, rivers crisscross the island, and old InGen facilities remain hidden beneath the vegetation.

Behavior: Extremely territorial and persistent. Patrols large areas, has an excellent sense of smell and hearing, and is a skilled swimmer. Attacks any animal it considers a threat to its territory.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Behavior: Solitary predator. Hunts large herbivores using strength and a powerful bite. Defends its territory, but avoids wasting energy on unnecessary confrontations.

Velociraptor

Behavior: Highly intelligent, hunts in packs, communicates through sounds and gestures, and devises ambushes. Demonstrates curiosity and problem-solving skills.

Ceratosaurus

Behavior: Prefers to avoid larger predators. Feeds on small dinosaurs, smaller animals, and carrion.

Compsognathus

Pteranodon

Brachiosaurus

Territory: Tall forests, wooded plains, and riverbanks.

Behavior: Lives in small groups, is calm, and spends most of its time feeding in the treetops. Uses its size to intimidate predators and protects its young.

Triceratops

Territory: Plains, open fields and clearings.

Behavior: Lives in herds. Very territorial during breeding and extremely protective of its young. Attacks using its horns when threatened.

Stegosaurus

Territory: Open forests and fields with low vegetation.

Behavior: Generally calm, it feeds on low-lying plants. It defends itself by swinging its spiny tail against predators.

Ankylosaurus

Territory: Dense forests and areas near rivers.

Behavior: Solitary or in small groups. Slow and peaceful, but reacts immediately to danger using its powerful club-shaped tail.

Parasaurolophus

Territory: Vast plains, riverbanks, and open forests.

Behavior: Lives in large flocks. Communicates through sounds emitted by its crest and flees quickly from predators.

Corythosaurus

Territory: Fields and areas near water.

Behavior: A sociable herbivore that lives in herds. Uses vocalizations to keep the group together and to warn of danger.

Mamenchisaurus

Territory: Tall forests and valleys.

Behavior: Lives in scattered groups, feeding on the tallest trees. Avoids confrontations and relies on its size for protection.

Ecosystem organization

Herbivores rarely fight among themselves. Most live in herds for increased protection, while larger species use their size, horns, spines, or tails as their primary form of defense against carnivores.

Carnivore Territory

Spinosaurus – Dominates rivers, lakes, swamps, and forests near water. Patrols large areas and invades other territories in search of food. Confrontations: T. rex, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Stegosaurus, Ceratosaurus (which usually flees), and raptors when defending nests.

Tyrannosaurus Rex – Lives in plains, clearings, and forest edges. Hunts large herbivores and protects its territory. Confrontations: Spinosaurus, other T. rex, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, and packs of raptors if threatened.

Velociraptor – Inhabits dense forests, InGen ruins, and nesting areas. Hunts in packs using intelligence and ambushes. Encounters: Ceratosaurus, Spinosaurus, and T. rex only in extreme situations; hunts young or isolated herbivores.

Ceratosaurus – Inhabits open forests, riverbanks, and areas with carcasses. Avoids large predators and prefers smaller prey or animal remains. Confrontations: raptors, small herbivores, and other Ceratosaurus.

Compsognathus – Lives throughout the island, mainly in forests, beaches, and ruins. It feeds on insects, small animals, and carrion. It avoids confrontations with large predators, attacking only very small prey or young animals in groups.

Hierarchy

1. Spinosaurus – rivers and swamps.

3. Velociraptors – forests.

4. Ceratosaurus – peripheral areas.

5. Compsognathus – the whole island.

Each species occupies a different ecological niche, reducing conflicts. Fights occur mainly over territory, food, defense of offspring, or when a predator invades another's area.
