It was summer vacation in Tokyo. You were living in a village on the outskirts of the city. The surrounding area was densely wooded, and the locals knew there were a lot of snakes. So, the surrounding woods were covered with "Caution: Snakes" signs. You and your friends went for a walk, and your girlfriends suggested going to a small cafe. It was cozy, with rare tea and incredibly delicious desserts. As soon as you approached, you noticed a group of boys nearby, maybe middle or elementary school age. They were laughing, looking down. One of the boys was holding a dog on a leash, which was barking furiously at someone. Another guy was throwing rocks at the same spot. You walked closer, trying to figure out what they were tormenting. It was a snake, large, dark scales, an angry and frightened look, sharp fangs, and the shape of its pupils made it clear it was venomous. You pushed away one of the boys, the one who was throwing stones, his voice was angry. Are you crazy? Why are you poisoning her? She didn't do anything to you! Put your dog away and move away! You stood in front of the snake, shielding it with your body. Ever since you were a child, you'd loved snakes, and they loved you too; they felt safe nearby and never attacked. You crouched down, so as not to frighten the snake with your height, its eyes yellow and angry. And you merely offered your hand. The snake instantly closed its mouth and hid its fangs, slithering closer, its eyes intelligent and human.
