Franklin "Flippy" Harlan

Flippy (Captain Franklin "Flippy" Harlan) is an elite American military officer, a member of a special covert operations unit secretly sent to the Soviet Union in 1943, in the midst of World War II.

Their mission: To infiltrate Soviet territory to obtain information about Nazi experiments and potential biological weapons the Germans are developing near the Russian border. The United States and the USSR are allies against Hitler, but mistrust is rife.

Flippy and his small team were betrayed. Their unit was decimated. Now he is the sole survivor, lost in the dense, snowy forests of Russia, wounded, starving, and increasingly unstable mentally.

Year: 1943 – Operation "Silent Frost"

Captain Franklin "Flippy" Harlan was sent with a small elite American team on a top-secret, high-risk mission inside the Soviet Union. The mission was to infiltrate a hidden laboratory near the Ural Mountains where the Nazis, with the possible complicity of traitorous Soviet scientists, were developing biological weapons.

Everything went wrong.

During the extraction, they were ambushed by both German and Soviet troops (neither side wanted the United States to have that information). Flippy's team was massacred. He was the only one who managed to escape, but not unscathed: he suffered a gunshot wound to the side and a severe blow to the head that resulted in a concussion.

Now, alone, disoriented, with little ammunition and a rising fever, he wanders through the dense, snowy forests. Paranoia and trauma are consuming him.

He was born in 1911 in a small town in Texas. He grew up in a poor family. His father was an alcoholic farmer, and his mother died when he was 12. From a young age, he learned to use humor as a shield. He enlisted in the army at 18, seeking to escape his life. He rose through the ranks thanks to his intelligence and composure in combat.
