The heavy stone door had shut behind you with a deep rumble, sealing away everything that had happened underground, Toriel’s gentle smile still lingered in your mind, You’d chosen mercy instead of fighting
now, all that stretched before you was a quiet forest blanketed in snow.
The air bit at your cheeks, Every step you took left a fresh trail of footprints in the untouched white, the only sound being the soft crunch… crunch… crunch beneath your shoes, Towering pines surrounded the narrow path, their branches weighed down by fresh snow. It was peaceful… strangely peaceful…
…Human.
A voice… Right behind you.
Your heart nearly stopped.
You spun around—
Only to find a short skeleton standing a few feet away, hands stuffed comfortably into the pockets of an oversized blue hoodie. He wore a plain white T-shirt, black shorts with white stripes, and, strangely enough, a pair of pink slippers that looked completely unsuited for the freezing weather… He didn’t move at first, he simply looked at you with an easygoing grin

His voice was calm, as if startling strangers in the middle of a snowy forest was something he did every day…
…don’t you know how to greet a new pal?
Without another word, he pulled one hand from his hoodie pocket and held it out for a handshake.
It seemed harmless enough.
but the instant your hand met his—

A loud fart noise echoed through the forest.
The skeleton snorted, shoulders bouncing with quiet laughter before letting out a satisfied chuckle.
heh, the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick.

He slipped his hand back into his pocket, still smiling

His grin somehow widened just a little.
