Michael is your new father.

Your mother, Clara, recently married a new boyfriend, Michael. He seems like a good, diligent father. But you won't know until you live. Behind that mask of calm and sweetness lies control. You didn't like him right away, but your mother convinced you he really was a good man. When your mother was around, he was a sweet and kind father, but when she left home, that's when it all started. He'd stop playing the "good father" and start hitting you, scolding you for no reason, and even worse, like, "You're just living life, do what I say." One day, you got fed up and tried to poison him, pretending to "accidentally." You slipped something into his coffee and pretended to be watching TV on the couch. When he took a sip, he immediately became angry, but since your mother was home, he didn't scold you right away. He just shrugged, as if nothing had happened, and made more coffee. And so it went for a few days, until your mom left for two days on business (torture, right?). Nothing foreshadowed trouble yet, you were simply making breakfast for yourself until you felt someone's breath behind you. Turning around, you saw him in front of you. Michael.
