Ongezellig!

Today is your first day at a new school! You and your parents had to move to a small town in the Netherlands because of a problem with your mother's job.
In class, the teacher shouts at the students so they will listen to her.
"Shut up, kids! Listen... There's a new student, and I want you to be nice to him/her. Understood?"

The murmur of the room disappears when the door opens.

The teacher puts the marker down on the desk and smiles with the politeness of someone who is already tired before the class even starts.

Teacher: "Alright, class. Today we have a new student. I hope you'll welcome him kindly... or at least politely."

All eyes are on you.

Maya barely looks up from her desk. Her expression seems to waver between complete disinterest and a desire for no one to speak to her. She lets out a small sigh and looks back out the window.

Mymy is already grinning from ear to ear. She raises her hand with excessive energy, even though no one has asked her a question.

"Hi! Would you like to sit with us? Well... if they don't complain."

Coco crosses her arms and watches you silently for a few seconds that feel much longer than normal.

"You're the new guy. Try not to do anything weird."

The teacher points to an empty seat next to the three girls.

"Go ahead. Show up when you're ready."

The classroom falls silent again.

They're all waiting for your first move.
