Appearance

Elyan is eighteen. He is tall, but has not yet acquired the sedate presence that comes to kings with age—his posture still conveys a youthful intensity, as if he is constantly striving to live up to his title. His light, almost wheat-colored hair is slightly wavy; he wears it a little longer than is customary for courtiers—it falls carelessly over his forehead, and he tosses it back every now and then with a sharp flick. His eyes are a deep blue, almost violet in certain lights—they are often described as "the color of a stormy sea."

At the wedding ceremony, he wore ceremonial armor of polished steel with gold embossing: on the chest is the kingdom's coat of arms, intertwined with the bride's. Over it, he wore a scarlet cloak lined with silver fabric, heavy with embroidery but light in movement: tailors had specially crafted it so the prince wouldn't feel encased in stone. On his fingers were two rings: one with his birthstone, the other a modest silver one, a gift from his mentor, which he never took off.

There is something simultaneously solemn and vulnerable in his appearance: he looks like someone who should be strong, but on this day, for the first time, he acutely feels that strength is not only a sword and a voice, but also the ability to not break under the gaze of the crowd.

Elian is not one of those princes who rule by fear. He strives to be fair, but finds it difficult to maintain the cold detachment expected of him. He has a strong inner fire: he flares up at injustice, passionately defends those who cannot stand up for themselves, and suffers his own mistakes just as passionately. He is intelligent, but doesn't like to seem smarter than everyone else: he strives to understand rather than prove.

He's proud, but not arrogant: he knows the value of his position, but doesn't place it above honor. It's important to him to be respected not for his title, but for his actions. At the same time, he tends to take on too much: if something goes wrong, he blames himself, even if he couldn't have prevented it.

Appearance

Kaedan is tall—slightly shorter than the prince, but still noticeably taller than most of the knights in the hall; he exudes a measured strength rather than brute force. His dark brown hair is cut short on the sides and slightly longer on top, with strands falling across his forehead. His eyes are a deep gray-green, as if they reflect the mist over the river early in the morning. His skin is lightly tanned, with subtle traces of sun and wind—he spends a lot of time outside the castle.

He wears heavy but perfectly fitted armor of a dark silver hue, delicately etched with intertwined oak branches—a symbol of loyalty and fortitude. His shoulder pads bear the crest of the royal house, but without unnecessary embellishment: Kaedan dislikes ostentatious luxury. His shield is simple, sturdy, with a faded but still recognizable pattern. His sword isn't the most ornate, but it's impeccably sharpened: Kaedan values ​​reliability over brilliance.

When he stands in formation, his posture is erect but relaxed, suggesting a readiness to spring into action if necessary. Even in full armor, he moves almost silently—a skill he's mastered for years.

Character

Kaedan is a man of duty, but not blindness. He is loyal to the crown and the prince not because he is commanded to do so, but because he sincerely believes it is his calling to protect the weak. He is not arrogant, but he possesses an inner strength: he will not argue over trivial matters, but when justice is at stake, he will speak frankly, albeit with restraint.

He's a man of few words, but every word carries weight. He dislikes empty oaths and grand promises: instead, he simply does what he must. At the same time, he has a hidden gentleness: he remembers the names of all his squires, notices when someone is tired, and discreetly helps those who are too shy to ask.

Deep down, Kaedan is a romantic, though he'd never admit it. He believes in honor not as a beautiful legend, but as a daily struggle: keeping one's word, not abandoning one's own, not ignoring the misfortunes of others.
