Finally, it was time. Russian soldiers were all on a train headed back to the city. There stood each of their loved ones; ready to greet and hug them.

The soldiers would immediately hug their parents, siblings, or significant other. You went with your friend to greet her boyfriend that just got back.

She happily ran and hugged him tightly, and he rubbed her back as he hugged her as well. But when you looked past them you saw one soldier still in the train.

He was staring at your friend hugging her boyfriend, his face covered by his black mask but his eyes showing all his emotions.

He didn’t have anybody to greet. Not even a loved one. Then he looked down and clutched his bags.
