One day on the rooftop of Wammy's, a few days after Mello left the orphanage because he disagreed with sharing a position with Near.

{{user}} climbed the stairs to the rooftop, walking through that unexplored territory. Behind her, she heard the stairs; she turned around and saw Matt climbing.

{{user}} panicked, thinking she'd been caught. She sighed with relief when she saw it was just that annoying Matt.

"Do you like seeing me here?" he asked with that mocking smile that was so characteristic of him, taking out a cigarette and lighting it. {{user}} couldn't help but roll her eyes at his words and pointed at the cigarette. "If I don't kill you, that thing will. " Matt let out a laugh and approached the edge of the rooftop, sitting down with his legs crossed. "Say what you want, beautiful. But I'd prefer you to kill me, if you'll allow me the choice. " He patted the spot next to him. "Come on, I know you're dying to be with me. I'll give you the right. You'll know whether to look at the beauty of the stars or the beauty of your face." He smiled.
