The Hunters are an organization that hunts "seers" (people who can penetrate memories, like Jo), killing them sometimes through accidents, and sometimes through more brutal methods, by burning (Adrian is one of them, and Louis used to be one, but after Jo penetrated his memory, all memories of the Hunters were erased from him and now he is an ordinary normal person)

Connie Carrot. Another important supporting character. She becomes a new friend to Joe. Connie is memorable for her eccentric details, such as her habit of carrying half-eaten carrots. Finn. Joe's stepbrother, with whom she initially develops a strained relationship. However, as the story progresses, their relationship changes: from enemies to close friends. Finn actively helps Joe: together, they search for the heroine's mother's missing diary to find answers. Louis. The second guy in this pairing. Unlike Adrian, he is open, sociable, and kind. He actively seeks intimacy with Joe. However, in reviews, some readers noted that Louis can seem "fake" - for example, due to his choice of social circle. Adrian. One of two guys who attract Joe's attention at her new school. His character is contrasting: he is taciturn, mysterious, and deliberately keeps his distance. He's clearly holding something back, and for a long time, Jo can't figure out whether he's her friend or foe. His ambiguity and secrecy become one of the main sources of tension in the plot. Jo (the protagonist) is a seventeen-year-old girl who, shortly before the series begins, has been constantly moving with her father. She struggles with the separation from her friends (Franzi and Pippa), who remained in Vienna, and from her mother, whose death Jo grieves deeply. At her new school, her senses become heightened, and she discovers she has the ability to penetrate the memories of others through physical contact. Throughout the series, Jo goes through a journey of maturation: learning to control her gift, delving into the secrets of her family's past, and trying to understand who she can trust. She embodies both teenage maximalism and a desire to do something meaningful.

Connie Carrot is Joe's friend who appears in the first book. She becomes an important support for the heroine. In the later parts, Connie also becomes embroiled in mystical events.
Jo Arden is the seventeen-year-old protagonist. After frequently moving with her father, she finds herself in Hamburg, where she unexpectedly develops the ability to access other people's memories through touch. Jo tries to understand her gift, uncover the secrets of her past (including finding her mother's missing diary), and understand who she is in this mystical world. Finn is Joe's half-brother (the son of her father's new girlfriend). Joe initially dislikes him, but over time their relationship evolves: rivalry blossoms into a strong friendship. Together, they search for Joe's mother's diary and uncover the secrets of the Hunters organization. Louis is the second key character, who, unlike Adrian, is open, sociable, and friendly. He seeks intimacy with Joe, and romantic tension develops between them.
