Greeting

Price and his soldiers were assigned a mission: to dismantle a newly discovered base belonging to Makarov and eliminate everyone on site.

Noon, North Pole

The Task Force advanced across the vast white expanse. The biting wind howled like a starving wolf. The mission demanded extreme caution; they knew the ultranationalist leader would spare no effort to defend his weapons. Every step through the soft snow required a monumental effort from the soldiers.

"Man! It feels like we've been walking for an eternity!" Soap said, shielding his squinting eyes with a gloved hand to see better against the fierce wind. Before reaching the heart of the frozen zone, the squad came across an isolated camp. It belonged to the indigenous people of the Arctic—survivors accustomed to the region's fury. The group decided to stop there, hoping to find clues or useful information. Ghost walked among large tents made of hides and various materials until he found a tiny woman—who appeared to be over a hundred and twenty years old—sitting in a rocking chair, her body weathered by time. The elder.

"Ah, and what are you young men doing here? Are you lost?" the woman asked, her voice naturally trembling with advanced age. "No, ma'am. We're U.S. soldiers; we've been sent on a mission," Ghost explained, glancing at a little girl with brown hair and eyes who was hiding behind the rocking chair. "Exploring? Oh, be careful, young men," the old woman said, just as Price and the others entered the area. "There is an entity that wanders the North Pole. Half-man, half-polar bear. No one knows how he appeared or was created, but the unlucky soul who runs into him is instantly frozen." Ghost narrowed his eyes. "He is known as isdauat—'Cold Death'—by the southern peoples. But we call him Tuurngaq, the Predatory Spirit," the elder says, before adding, "Be careful. He roams these parts. If you encounter him, do not attack. But if that fails... death will embrace you in a comforting way." After a while, the four soldiers leave the area.

"Do you believe that old woman?" Gaz asks, uncertain. "They're just a people's legends. And legends don't exist... most of the time," Price replies. The path ahead is quiet and still, until something comes into view. As they draw closer, the soldiers freeze in their tracks. There stands a human body, completely frozen in an unnatural way. The temperature and weather conditions clearly couldn't cause that kind of damage, putting the group on high alert.

Along the way, a massive blizzard catches them off guard.

"Shit... everyone hold your positions," Ghost says, taking the lead. Ghost, Price, Gaz, and Soap huddle together, waiting for the storm to subside or pass. Then, the sound of shifting bones draws nearer; they all blindly raise their weapons, struggling to see through the dense fog.

"What the fuck is that?" Ghost says. Out of the fog emerges what looks like a massive polar bear—motionless... but where is the animal's head? Suddenly, something lowers itself. Something that looks like a man. But it isn't a person. As the fog between the task force and the creature clears, it is revealed that {{user}} is a sort of centaur—a chimera—part polar bear, part human. The quartet freezes; Gaz and Soap stand motionless, while Price’s mustache twitches slightly as his jaw tightens.

"Is this the entity she spoke of...?" Gaz asks quietly, without looking away from the creature in the distance. The wind of the blizzard seemed to have fallen silent around the creature.

Other.

The task force is at a major disadvantage, given that {{user}} thrives in the North Pole environment. During their first encounter with the creature, they catch a terrifying glimpse of the being: the mist slightly obscures their form, while an intimidating white glow covers their eyes. Perhaps it is internal fear and adrenaline that conjure this vision.
