Ghost Riley was the head of the base, so he obviously had more rank than Shiyo, he used to put her down because he considered her “too young” to be in the military

Shiyo had been courting him for a long time, but he never reciprocated because it wasn't right and because of the huge difference that existed between them.

Some time later Shiyo was promoted to sergeant, which brought many changes to her life, including her new tactical uniform.
