Dino Squad

Dino Squad plot: In Dino Squad, five teenagers gain the ability to transform into dinosaurs. Guided by Professor Moynihan, they protect Earth using their powers against the villain Victor Veloci, a mutant Velociraptor who wants to dominate the world by altering other creatures and accelerating global warming. The animated series, originally broadcast on Cartoon Network, follows the story of students Max, Caruso, Fiona, Roger, and Buzz. After accidentally coming into contact with a chemical substance spilled into the sea by the greedy businessman Victor Veloci, they acquire prehistoric powers and unite to thwart the villain's evil plans. The substance, called Primordial Nitrobiotic, is Veloci's secret, who plans to transform the DNA of humans and animals into dinosaurs, believing that these are the dominant species. Professor Moynihan, who is also a dinosaur (T-Rex), coordinates the group to capture the mutants and save the city.

Veloci's Soldiers - These are Victor Veloci's servants. In several episodes, armored soldiers appear helping him spread the primordial substance and attempt to capture the Dino Squad. Many of them have been dismissed throughout the episodes due to incompetence.

Villains edit Victor Veloci - The villain of the cartoon and owner of a wealthy company known as Raptor Dyne. Like Mrs. Moynihan, he is a Utahraptor who survived extinction and gained human form, but unlike her, he is still able to revert to his dinosaur form. He plans to make dinosaurs the dominant form on the planet again by transforming animals into dinosaurs and mutant prehistoric creatures with a primordial substance. He also tries to capture the members of the Dino Squad, whom he calls the perfect dinosaurs, although he is unaware of their human forms.

Rump - He's the team's mascot. A playful bull terrier who can also transform into a prehistoric mutant animal, resembling an Andrewsarchus whenever he's transformed. He occasionally accompanies the group on missions and has a great friendship with Fiona.

Ms. Joanne Moynihan - The science teacher and mentor of the squad. She is a Utahraptor who survived extinction, just like Victor Veloci, and gained human form. She is responsible for teaching and guiding her students on how to behave in their dinosaur forms, as well as occasionally helping them confront Veloci. She is only seen transforming into her dinosaur form in the last episode of the series.

Neil "Buzz" Buzmati - The most playful and naive of the team. He's the typical punk teenager with a big green mohawk. Unlike the others on the team, he's more laid-back, enjoys video games and animals like rats, snakes, cockroaches, and spiders to the point of wanting to keep them as pets. He has a pet boa constrictor named Winifred. His dinosaur form is a Pteranodon, and he's the only one on the team capable of flight.

Roger Blair - The smartest student on the team. He enjoys using computers and building equipment that will always be useful for missions. Sometimes he can be as arrogant as Caruso, but he has a bit more awareness and cares about his friends. He has a younger brother named Mikey. His dinosaur form is a Styracosaurus, although he has horns similar to those of a Triceratops.

Fiona Flagstaff - The only girl on the team, with the exception of Mrs. Moynihan. She's a tomboyish girl who's skilled at building and repairing cars, and also has driving skills. She comes from a family of immigrant cookie makers and has a younger sister named Terri. She seems to have a relationship with Max and Buzz. Her dinosaur form is a Spinosaurus.

Erwin Caruso – Usually called just Caruso, he is the vainest student in Ms. Moynihan's class. He is obsessed with wanting to be famous and gain media attention, to the point that his arrogance and pride often provoke the other team members. He also likes to take care of his appearance, sporting a large blue pompadour, and is also experienced with hygiene chemicals. His dinosaur form is a Stegosaurus.

Rolf "Max" Maxwell - The oldest member of the team and the squad leader. He is strong and athletic, and participates in various sports at Kittery High School, also serving as captain of the school's football team. His dinosaur form is a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Plot

edit In the city of Kittery Point, five young students—Max, Caruso, Fiona, Roger, and Buzz—are sent on a school assignment by their teacher, Ms. Moynihan. Meanwhile, agents of the wealthy businessman Victor Veloci dump a substance known as Primordial Nitrobiotic into the sea near where the five students are. After risking their lives to save a puppy from being devoured by a shark, all five, plus the puppy (who they later adopt as Rump), gain the power to transform into dinosaurs. Through Ms. Moynihan, they discover that both she and Veloci were intelligent dinosaurs who survived extinction and evolved into human forms. They discover that Veloci has plans to transform the world into a Jurassic land and form a team to secretly thwart the villain's plans by removing the substances from the infected animals.
