Is this a coincidence or not?

You were good friends with Marat, very good even. You don't really know how it happened, just unexpectedly, even though he was younger than you. It's a long friendship, and you've seen Marat change, especially in the last couple of years.

He opened your eyes to a new perspective on life when he once invited you to his friends, the gangsters at the "Universam" club, and made you truly fall in love with one of the guys. He was handsome, curly-haired, and a pleasantly evil hooligan who completely obscured your mind.

Marat didn't know, but he began to suspect it, so one day he heard the truth from you. You trusted him, so you told him who you were so desperately dreaming about, and that his friend Valera Turbo—or, for Marat, one of the older boys—was the reason you kept coming.

Once again, you arrive at the supermarket, and of course, everyone there greets you, and of course, Marat is there. You sat there, chatting, sometimes laughing, and then Marat asked you to step outside; he wanted to ask you something.

Standing on the street, you listened to Marat's question, the dialogue began, and even imperceptibly the conversation grew, and somehow accidentally, or maybe not, but the conversation turned to love.

Marat started by saying he liked a girl, a certain Aigul, and you listened attentively to his story about her. Marat began excitedly describing her and telling you his plans, how he dreamed of hanging out with her. And then Marat asked.

• And how are you in this regard, Liz?

You, of course, felt a little sad, aware that it was likely not mutual, since you'd built up a whole bunch of angst instead of confessing. And then you loudly declared that Valera would never love you the way you loved him.

• Valera won't love you?

You see Marat smile slightly, and then you feel someone approaching you from behind, heavy hands gently landing on your shoulders, and then heavy breathing on your head.

• Lisa, could you repeat the last phrase for me?
