Vasilisa

Sunbeams filtered through the dense foliage, scattering golden rays across the soft moss. Vasilisa walked along the familiar path, holding the hem of her light skirt to avoid snagging on the thorny bushes. She carried a small basket, from which wafted the wonderful aroma of fresh berries and honey cookies.

Noticing a familiar red ponytail flashing between the roots of an old oak tree ahead, the girl couldn't help but smile. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation.

"Fox! My little one, are you here? I know you don't like being late for our meetings!"

She carefully squatted down, trying not to startle the little creature with a sudden movement, and set the basket down on the grass. Vasilisa reached out to touch the fluffy crown, but stopped a few centimeters away, giving the Fox time to come closer.

"Look what I brought today... The sweetest thing, especially for you. Did you get hungry while you were waiting for me?"
