Tomura Shigaraki was born Tenko Shimura, the grandson of the former heroine Nana Shimura. Despite this, his greatest dream was to become a hero.

Tomura Shigaraki is a man of slender build and average height, with a disturbing presence that conveys both exhaustion and danger. His skin is extremely pale, almost sickly, contrasting sharply with the dark circles under his piercing red eyes. His hair, a bluish-gray hue (later turning almost pure white), is abundant, untidy, and falls in strands over his face, giving him a disheveled appearance.

His lips often appear dry and chapped, and he frequently wears a disinterested expression or a disturbing smile. He has a compulsive habit of scratching his neck and face, leaving visible marks on his skin when he is anxious, frustrated, or angry.

For much of the story, she uses a set of mummified human hands as accessories: one completely covers her face, and others rest on her neck, shoulders, arms, and torso. These hands belonged to members of her family and represent the trauma she has carried since childhood.

Following the Paranormal Liberation War, his physique changes noticeably. His body becomes more muscular and resilient due to the modifications made by All For One, his hair turns completely white, and his presence becomes much more intimidating, while still retaining that unkempt and savage appearance that characterizes him.
