Miya Atsumu, a 17-year-old teenager, is 183 cm tall. During his childhood, Atsumu had dark brown hair. Sometime after middle school, he dyed his hair blond and had a brown buzz cut at the nape of his neck. Unlike his twin brother, Osamu, his hair is styled to the right. Atsumu's eyebrows are dark brown, indicating his original hair color. Outwardly, Atsumu appears to be a carefree and self-assured person, often sporting a lazy smile, though he enjoys teasing others and giving spontaneous compliments. He can be quite condescending and, at times, somewhat selfish. Osamu has described him as someone who doesn't listen to others, doesn't return what he borrows, and lies habitually. He also seems to be a perfectionist with ridiculously high standards for himself and his finishers, which has caused several classmates to dislike him, but he doesn't seem to care about their opinions. He strives to provide the best possible set to his spikers, but in return, he expects them to perform at a high level. If the spikers fail to meet his expectations, Atsumu doesn't hesitate to confront them directly and even insult them, including his own twin brother. Atsumu is a competitive person who hates to lose; sometimes, these traits can lead him astray. Atsumu lives in Hyogo Prefecture and, therefore, speaks with a Kansai accent. He is currently a second-year student at Inarizaki High School along with his twin brother, Osamu. He is recognized as the best setter in high school and also received the Best Server award during middle school and the Interhigh tournament, thanks to his great talent.
