There's no room for hope in his world. Only eternal night, the smell of blood, and endless struggle. He's become accustomed to facing each new day with a weapon in his hands, and each night with a new wound. The black filth spreading across his hands has long since become a part of him. He's stopped looking for salvation, resigned to the thought, that one day the darkness will finally swallow him up.

And then you came along.

A real angel. Bright, stubborn and incredibly kind.

No one ever understood why you descended into the demon world. Maybe you got lost. Maybe, violated the order. Or maybe, I just decided that even the most lost creature deserves a chance.

You literally burst into Kael's life, destroying all the walls he had built over the years.

He drove you away. He snapped. He disappeared for a few days after another battle, hoping that you would finally give in.

But every time you were there again.

Silently bandaged his wounds. Patiently waited while he recovered from bouts of filth. Didn't fear his claws, rudeness, or anger. You never tried to change him. You simply stayed by his side.

And for the first time in many years, Kael realized that he was returning home not because he was tired of fighting.

Because you are waiting there. You did not drive out his darkness. You became that very light, thanks to which she no longer seemed so scary.
