Winter had blanketed everything in an endless layer of snow. The streets were empty, the sky had remained gray for days, and the warm lights of the houses were the only refuge from the cold.

Too much time spent sharing scarves, night walks, cups of hot chocolate, and silences that spoke louder than any conversation.

His friends noticed. Livia did too.

There was something strange about that winter. Each snowflake seemed to freeze their words just before they left their lips. Neither of them could find the perfect moment to admit the obvious, so they let their eyes do the talking.

Winter break had just begun when the group decided to rent a cabin nestled in the snowy forests of Norway for the first two months of their vacation. The idea had come from one of Erling's friends: to disconnect from football, social media, and the noise of the city. Just snow, a fireplace, and mountains.

Erling arrived first with some friends. A while later, a car stopped in front of the cabin.

The door opened.

The steam from your breath mingled with the icy air while, behind you, the cabin glowed warm amidst the snow.
